Some reading for lockdown?
It would have been Al's 60th birthday last Saturday. He always planned to publish his books but never got around to it.
Unbeknown to me Anthony and Kirsty edited and published his first book as a tribute to their Dad. Such a lovely surprise to get a parcel with a copy 😊 followed by a video call explaining.
Anyway, I'm sure Al would have wanted me to share it with you all.

An extra end was played when the Pairs Finals we’re tied 21 - 21 after 21 ends! Pauline Boultwood & Ron Davies prevailed but the match was epic! Very well done!

Bowls with Cricket!

Dear Member

The new season is shortly upon us but before we can start playing we need to prepare the green/lawn. The pre-season preparation will take place at:

10.00 on Wednesday 17 April.

If you can, please come along to help – many hands make light work!

The first Bowls Session will be a casual roll-up at:

14.30 on Saturday 20th April.

Regular roll-ups will be on Mondays at 10.00 and Thursdays at 10.00 with casual bowling on Sunday evenings from 17.00.

Croquet will start on:

Sunday 21st April at 10.00

and in the week there will be croquet sessions on Tuesday evenings (18.00), on Thursday and Friday afternoons (14.00 – 17.00).

If you haven’t yet renewed your membership for 2019 please do so now. Details were emailed to you ahead of the AGM, any questions please contact our Treasurer Robert Clark: [email protected] or 01442 842974.

If you are not re-joining us we wish you well. It would be appreciated if you would let our Membership Secretary Janet Wheeler know: [email protected] or 01442 258553 and return any clubhouse keys either to the clubhouse via another member or to 46 Little Gaddesden Berkhamsted, HP4 1PH.

We need new members to keep the club viable so do try bring along any friends, family, workmates or neighbours to ‘have a go’ - or encourage them to call Anne on 01442 842780 [Bowls] and Bill [Croquet] on 01442 3155 for more information.

Date for the Diary: we will be holding another Beer /Tea & Bowls open session at 14.30 on Saturday 25th May [Bank Holiday Weekend]. This is open to anyone on a pay and play basis – all members welcome of course [at no charge]. Please encourage any friends or family that might enjoy this chance to bowl to come along.

We look forward to seeing you for a good summer of bowls and croquet.
