Time to start a new story.

�It can take YEARS to rewire those beliefs.�
To realise that you don’t have to be “sporty” to move, play, or participate.

Really enjoyed the new research from
Campaign that shows that negative early PE experiences are one of the many barriers stopping millions of those aged 50-65 from being physically active.

The data shows that for many this began decades ago.

It’s not too late to start again and finding others to do it with can help you take that first step.

It may be dark (and a bit damp if I’m honest 🙄) but sessions are now back for this term. If you’ve even vaguely been curious and fancied trying them, take that leap of faith and come and see if it’s for you.

Strength and Mobility sessions outside, embracing nature and spending time with other people.

Grab a broom, a cup of tea, and let’s get started. 🧹☕

1️⃣ Shoulder Pass-Throughs & Egg Beaters
Keep your elbows straight throughout.
* Do 10 reps of each, and you’ll feel your shoulders start to loosen up.
* Over time, you might notice you can move your hands closer together

2️⃣ Spidermans
This one is at the top of our movement charts!
* A perfect warm-up and a great precursor to squats.
* Works on hip flexion, rotation, thoracic mobility, wrist strength, and so much more.
* If you struggle with deep squats, the Spiderman helps you get into a deeper position on one side.
Tip: If it feels stressful or hard to get into, try a Fragon (Spiderman with your back knee down). This reduces strain but keeps most of the benefits.

3️⃣ Cossack Squats
These are excellent for hip, knee, and ankle mobility.
* Do them little and often to build strength and range of motion over time.
* If you’re finding it tricky to get deep, use a chair or wall for support.

4️⃣ Sky Dancers
One of our favourite back warm-ups!
* No right or wrong way to do them—just move your spine in all directions (flexion, extension, side bending, and rotation).
* Start slowly through one cycle, then switch direction.
* Feeling good? Turn up the music, speed up a little, and channel your inner roadside sky dancer. 💃

5️⃣ Hanging
You don’t need a bar or even to lift your feet off the ground
* Hang in a door frame, off a countertop, or anywhere sturdy.
* Try it with two hands, one hand, or any variation that works for you.
* This is a great way to decompress your spine and build grip strength.

As with all joints and muscles, we want to keep them moving in every which way that they can move.

Find novel positions - the positions that you don’t spend much time in every day - and give yourself permission to move.

Little and often and head outside if you can especially now the daylight hours are still so short. 🌳

I’m adding to my health and wellbeing toolkit and am training to be an Accredited Health & Wellbeing Coach!

To support the final stage of my training, I’m offering free health coaching programmes and am looking for volunteers.

Health coaching supports people to improve their health and wellbeing across a broad range of areas including energy, nutrition, stress, sleep and relaxation, and weight management.
> Programmes of 4 or 6 sessions
> One to one, via video call

Great to be back on the school field and what an evening for it! It really is a magical time starting sessions in the evening sun and working through dusk. Lots of chat and giggles and joyful work last night!

Our Movements for Life sessions are all about time for you (or your loved ones) to focus on building strength and mobility to help you keep doing what you love.

We focus on practical movements you need for life – so you can keep joining in, whatever life throws at you.

- Getting down (and up!) from the ground and time on the ground
- Balance
- Reactions
- Getting into ‘odd’ positions - preparing for all those random things life throws our way
- Pulling, pushing, lifting and moving objects!

With some creative fun and games thrown in!

It’s simply a joyful experience of being outside each week in a beautiful setting with a great bunch of people! We’re more likely to stick to exercise if it’s joyful, social, and feels like we’re making progress!

New programme starting 29th April. £30 for 4 weeks
