Welcome to the University of Nottingham Snooker & Pool Club, we are one of the best established clubs on campus which caters for players of all abilities. Throughout the year we will be offering practice sessions, competitions, trials for upcomi

ng tournaments and bi-weekly social events throughout the year! Members both play for fun and seriously, so you'll always find someone suitable to play with. We will be running a couple of taster events at the start of the academic year. There after, membership is just £20 for the entire year! We represent the university throughout the country in three disciplines, 9-Ball, 8-Ball and snooker. There are tournaments all over the country in which the University of Nottingham is always one of the strongest competitors.

UoN Internal Snooker Tournament 2026 – Recap 🏆

After weeks of action packed competition, this year’s Internal Snooker Tournament has come to an end.

👑 Champion
Jai Bal claims the crown after a brilliant run through the tournament.

🥈 Runner-Up
A fantastic effort from Liam, who battled all the way to the final.

🥉 Third Place
Caelan secures third place with a strong overall performance.

🛡️ Shield Winner + Highest Break
Shiv comes through the Shield bracket to lift the trophy and also records the highest break of the tournament with a 37.

It’s INVITATIONALS DAY! 🔥

Here is how we lineup for our inaugural Nottingham Invitationals tournament! 🎱

Last weekend, we took 2 teams to Doncaster for the Sheffield Hallam open which we thoroughly enjoyed!

In indies, Liam and Dhruv made it furthest before losing to some very good players in the last 32.

The 1s made it through the groups in top spot, beating Sheffield 1s 7-3 and York 2s 7-3 before drawing to eventual runners up Dundee 1s 5-5.

The 2s did not perform to the best of their abilities in the group stage, finishing bottom of the group and qualifying for the trophy.

In the champs, the 1s despatched a very good Aberystwyth 1s team 6-4, and then a York 1s team 6-1 before losing to the eventual tournament winners Hallam 1s 6-1. A 4th place finish for Nottingham!

The 2s struggled to find form and saw defeat to York 2s in the first round of the trophy.

We want to say a massive thank you to for running such a fantastic tournament, everything went smooth and even despite a venue change it seemed to fit even better!

BUCS SNOOKER 2026! 🥉

Over the past 4 days we attended our last BUCS tournament of the year - Snooker BUCS in Leeds @ the Northern Snooker Centre!

In indies, for most it was an early exit, but the highlights were Billy getting to the Last 32 of the champs and Jai who managed a last 8 trophy finish before seeing defeat.

The 2s qualified for the trophy from their group but then were beaten by Birmingham 1sts.

The 1sts managed to win all their group games with 4-1 wins against Warwick 2s and Middlesex 1s as well as a tight 3-2 victory against Newcastle 1s sending us through to the Championship Knockouts last 8.

In the Quarters we faced a York 1s team where we drew 5-5 and got the victory in a 3 way blackball shootout decider where Liam and James brought the win home.

In the semi finals we lost to the eventual winners and 1st seed Imperial 1s 6-1 with Liam grabbing our only frame.

What an amazing 4 days we have all had in Leeds, for what is for some their last ever BUCS 😢

Extremely proud with a 3rd place finish - it’s something to definitely be proud of as a team!

Last weekend we took a team to Hatfield for the 2026 Southern’s Universities 8 Ball Tournament which proved to be a huge success.

In individuals no one really was able to get into their stride, with Dhruv being the only one getting past the first round matches before seeing defeat.

In the teams, our first game in the group was Bath 2nds, where we put up a good showing but weren’t able to come out victorious, losing 6-4 respectively.

However, we managed to make amends in our second group game against Exeter 3rds winning 6-1 emphatically with some really impressive clearances all round.

In our final teams group stage game we played UCL 2nds which ended in defeat sending us through into the Trophy section of the tournament for the knockouts on Sunday.

In the Quarter finals of the knockouts we met UEA 2nds, which ended 6-2 to us kicking off our trophy surge with a really good performance.

In the semi final LSE 1sts were waiting but we proved too strong winning 6-2 and putting ourselves into the Trophy final in the event.

In the final Warwick 2nds were our opponents, and we were as emphatic as ever. Liam dished in the first frame sending us 1-0 up, and everyone after played incredibly well sending us to a 6-2 victory and the TROPHY!!!! 🏆

Everyone here at UoN want to thank the guys who make this event possible, we love it every year and we will be back to defend our crown next year!

MANCHESTER CLASSIC TROPHY WINNERS! 🏆

This past weekend we took a team to the Manchester Classic, with our 1sts squad consisting of Caelan, Liam, Jai, Shiv, and our former president Marcus returning as the team’s alumni player.

In the Indies, Liam was our standout performer, reaching the Last 16 with some brilliant wins over tough opponents. Marcus made it to the Last 32, while Jai and Caelan exited in the Last 64, and Shiv bowed out in the first round.

The team got off to a slow start in the group stages, narrowly losing 6–4 to Lancaster 2nds, followed by another defeat to Liverpool 1sts, closing out Day 1.

Coming into Day 2, we faced Manchester Met 1sts and battled to a 5–5 draw. But this is where our momentum began to turn. Our final group match against Leeds 1sts was a must-win to avoid elimination — and the lads delivered with a huge 7–3 victory, sending us through to the Trophy knockout stages.

In the first knockout round we faced NTU 1sts, where the team hit top form and produced a dominant 6–0 win to book our spot in the semi-finals. Up next was a strong Sheffield 1sts side, but once again we rose to the occasion, winning 6–3 with another set of brilliant performances.

The Trophy final against Keele 1sts was a closely contested final, with the score never more than one frame apart. Trailing 5–4, Shiv calmly potted the final 8-ball to level it at 5–5 and send us to a three-frame shootout. Liam, Jai, and Marcus were selected and after a tense finish, Marcus and Liam secured the win, taking the final 7–6 for Nottingham!!

Huge thank you to the Manchester lads for hosting a fantastic tournament and now onto Warwickshire next weekend!

Today we take 3 teams to Leeds to compete against the best the university scene has to offer @ BUCS 9 Ball!
