Hadleigh Park LTC is proud to be a partner of Barclays Free Park Tennis, Canvey Island with Castle Point Borough Council, Active Essex and Yellow Door. Canvey is now a National Finalist in the LTA Awards. Congratulations!!!! Fingers crossed.

We are proud to announce we have two National Finalists. They will now go through to the National Finals on 16 April and we wish them both the best of luck 👏🏻👏🏻

We’re incredibly proud to share that King George V Playing Fields (Canvey Island) has been named County Award Winner 2025/26 – Park Venue of the Year by the LTA Awards, presented by Lexus, in partnership with Essex Tennis.

The LTA Awards received a high number of exceptional nominations, so being selected as a County winner is a fantastic achievement and a real testament to the commitment and impact made to tennis in our community over the past year.

This success has been made possible through strong and positive partnerships with Hadleigh Park Lawn Tennis Club, Borough Council, CYP Yellow Door, Lawn Tennis Association, and Active Essex — thank you all for your continued support.

Our nomination will now be put forward to the LTA national shortlisting panel for consideration in the National Finals and Excellence Awards 🤞

Recently our Ladies got together for a fun afternoon of Tea, cake & Tennis. Weather was amazing and they all had a great time. Hadleigh Park is proud to be working with Yellow Door, Castle Point Borough Council and LTA - Tennis For Britain

Many of our wonderful members volunteer their time to run Free Park Tennis at this venue & from Saturday John H Burrows, Hadleigh too....

King George V Playing Fields have officially reopened as part of a £85,000 renovation, managed by the LTA, and funded by the council, supported by the LTA Tennis Foundation.

Tennis courts in Canvey Island were recently reopened at an event attended by The Mayor and representatives from Yellow Door, Hadleigh Tennis Club, Essex Tennis Association and The Lawn Tennis Association.

Starting this Saturday, 19th July 10-11a.m and supported by many of our wonderful club member volunteers we will operate Free Park Tennis at a 2nd site in Castle Point, John H Burrows! Come along, join in the fun!

Fancy becoming an Activator volunteer yourself, no experience necessary, you don't even have to be a Good Tennis player. We are looking for a few more volunteers to help run these sessions so drop us a message. It's a great way of giving back to the Community. Our volunteers have so much fun seeing new people enjoy our wonderful sport.....

Following the amazing success of FREE PARK TENNIS over on Canvey Island we are delighted to announce this initiative will operate at John H Burrows Tennis Courts in Hadleigh from the 19th July (this weekend!) too

We will initially run the FREE session EVERY 2 Weeks on a SATURDAY 10-11am, all welcome.

All equipment, balls & activity will be provided. We simply ask you wear a suitable pair of shoes to the session, e.g trainers. Please no sandals/flip-flops,crocs etc.

Under 13s must be accompanied by their adult

It's FREE. It's FUN. It's for EVERYONE. See you on court!

BARCLAYS BIG TENNIS WEEKEND IS COMING TO KING GEORGE PLAYING FIELDS, CANVEY ISLAND SS8

Don’t miss your chance to pick up a racket and play tennis at our Barclays Big Tennis Weekend on 5th and 6th July 2025 (in collaboration with King George’s Community Fayre).

It is all about having sociable fun, so you can guarantee a great day with friends and family.

We have three tennis courts and we can provide rackets of different sizes and tennis balls for different abilities, so anyone can come along and play.

Here’s what’s on:

** Saturday 5th July **

10.00-11.00am Free Park Tennis is all inclusive social tennis sessions. Barclays Free Park Tennis is held weekly at King George’s, Canvey Island, Saturdays 10-11am. So this is a usual session.

We are also offering our Tennis Pass (annual membership) at a reduced price of £35 (usually £50) during the weekend which entitles you and three others in your household to book courts at no further cost.

This event is part of a national Barclays Big Tennis Weekend campaign promoted by the LTA taking place all over Britain, encouraging thousands of people to head to their local tennis courts for free.
