Celebrating the Strong Seniors
I started running a strength class specifically for older adults last October. From 3 participants in the first session I now run 3 classes a week with all 6 spaces in every class now booked up.
Not only is this an incredibly fun demographic to teach, their commitment and progress in such a short space of time has been astounding especially as they were all new to strength training.
Clients have reported a general increase in energy, feeling more mobile, able to lift heavy loads for longer, finding everyday tasks easier, feeling more independent (able to get in and out of a bath unaided, getting on the floor and back up again without support)...
I have the privilege of watching these wonderful women grow in self confidence week on week as they become more comfortable with the movements and working with weights.
Now busy planning the next course to allow them all to progress further
