Isle Junior Rugby

🏉❤️ ISLE OF AXHOLME MINI JUNIORS – WHAT A SUNDAY! ❤️🏉

We’ve had a couple of days to recover, so it’s time to celebrate our amazing mini rugby stars! 😉😂

⚫️🔴⚪ UNDER 9s

A gritty Wheatley Hills home side and a strong Grimsby team put our Under 9s to the test! 💪 They showed fantastic courage, determination and teamwork throughout.

⚫️🔴⚪ UNDER 7s

We had the smallest numbers on Sunday taking on much bigger squads at Wheatley Hills and Grimsby! 💪 But our little superstars showed huge hearts, brilliant running, great tries and fantastic teamwork. ❤️🏉 They even made time to welcome and play alongside other teams — rugby at its very best! 🤝

❤️ WE COULDN’T BE PROUDER!

A massive thank you to our parents for your support. Rugby is about teamwork, confidence, friendships and, most importantly, having fun!

🌟 WANT YOUR CHILD TO TRY RUGBY?

🏉🎉 Amazing season! 🎉🏉

🏅 Season Celebration

Last week’s league celebration session was packed with smiles, laughter, medals, certificates, and plenty of proud moments! 🏅📜😊

We couldn’t be prouder of every single one of our fantastic Under 6s, 7s, 8s & 9s. They’ve grown in confidence, learned new skills, made new friends, and shown incredible resilience along the way — whether that’s bouncing back after a missed tag, trying something new, or getting back up after a tumble and carrying on with a smile! 💪🏉😊

A huge congratulations to all of our trophy winners across the different categories! 🏆👏 Every award was thoroughly deserved and recognised the fantastic effort, attitude, teamwork, and progress shown throughout the season. Well done to everyone who received a trophy — and a big thank you to all the children for making it such a brilliant year! 🖤🤍❤️

The move to Sunday training is already looking like a great decision, and we’re confident it will really pay dividends when Mini Rugby kicks off in September. 🏉

🎈 Final Session Highlights

Today was our final session before the summer break… and what a way to end it!

Our mixed Parent & Child participation tag game was full of laughs, brilliant effort, questionable tactics, and some very creative interpretations of the rules! 😂

There were some impressive runs, some heroic tag attempts, and a few moments where parents may have forgotten that the children were supposed to be the ones learning from them! 😉

The refereeing decisions were, naturally, completely fair, accurate, and beyond question… although there did seem to be a surprising number of appeals from both sides! 🤷‍♂️😂

Most importantly, we had fun, got everyone involved, and made some fantastic memories together — and that’s what rugby is all about. 🖤🤍❤️

🙌 Thank You

A massive THANK YOU to all of our incredible players, parents, carers, volunteers, and coaches for making this such a brilliant year.

Your support, enthusiasm, and commitment make our club the special place it is, and we couldn’t do it without you.

☀️ Summer Break

We’ll now enjoy a well-earned summer break and will be back on Sunday 6th September, refreshed, recharged, and ready for another season full of rugby, fun, friendships, and hopefully fewer controversial refereeing decisions… although we can’t promise anything! 😄

Have a fantastic summer — we can’t wait to see you all back in September! 🖤🤍❤️🏉

🏉 Festival Day Success! 🏉

A huge thank you to for hosting a fantastic festival today. Despite the wet start, it was a brilliant day of rugby enjoyed by all.

👏 A massive well done to all of our Under 8s. The effort, running, passing, and teamwork on display were excellent throughout the day. Every player should be proud of themselves!

⭐ A special mention to today’s captain, Harry T, who did a great job leading the team.

We’ll be working on our tagging skills at training next Sunday, so let’s keep up the great work! 👍🏼

A big thank you as well to Sheffield Forgers RLFC for allowing two of our Under 9s to join their team. They faced some strong opposition, gained valuable experience, and thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity. Experiences like these help our young players develop both on and off the pitch.

👏 Well done to all our players, coaches, volunteers, and supporters.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend! ❤️🖤🤍🏉

🏉🖤❤️🤍U7s, U8s & Mixed U9s Match Report – Sunday 8th Feb 🤍🖤💙🏉

Firstly, a big well done and thank you to Thorne for two really competitive games last Sunday. They showed great intensity, moved the ball well and kept the pressure on throughout. It’s always good to see positive rugby being played 👏🏉🌟

Now to our Isle superstars 🌟

💪 Mixed Under 9s

I am SO proud of this group! Everything really came together on Sunday. From the first whistle they were focused, communicating brilliantly, tackling strongly, passing sharply and working so hard for one another.

I’ll be honest — before the game I wasn’t sure the concentration was quite there… but I was very happily proven wrong! 😅 It turned into a fantastic team performance from everyone involved.

⸻

🌟 Under 7s & Under 8s

Another brilliant effort from our younger groups. There were loads of positives to take from the game — strong runs, brave tackling and some lovely teamwork on show.

Although Coach Chris was happy with many aspects, his words summed it up perfectly:
“Great effort today — let’s use our 👂🏼 next time!” 😂🏉

We keep learning, we keep improving, and most importantly we keep enjoying it. That’s what it’s all about 💪

A special well done to Harry T — very well deserved Man of the Match 👏🏆

⸻

🌟 Tot Stars of the Week (from last Saturday’s training) 🌟
A big congratulations to our two little stars of the week who showed fantastic listening, effort and attitude at training:

We love seeing that energy and enthusiasm — brilliant work! 👏

With Valentine’s Day this Saturday and no training, we just want to say how much we LOVE this team ❤️🏉 The friendships, support and pride they show every week makes us very lucky coaches.

Enjoy your half term everyone — rest up and we’ll see you all back ready to go next Saturday! 🖤❤️🤍
