parkrun Jeff here.

Well, what a happy day 😀 I had on Saturday as I was able to attend Vermuyden Way parkrun for the second week on the trot (see what I did there🐾).

Given the choice between strutting my fluff around the start /finish area, where fusses would be aplenty, or marshaling in the woods where only a passing fuss can be expected, I obviously chose wisely. 🦉

And I certainly wasn't disappointed. The crowds were magnificent! The volunteers were EPIC! What more could a doggo need out of a Saturday morning parkrun?! 😎

Oh yes, SAUSAGES! 🌭

My new bestie in the Happy Café didn't disappoint and provided my much needed sausage snack, pre cut as always. Now that's service for you. 🌭 🐶 Followed by snacks from superfan Janice, with treats all the way from Australia. 🇦🇺 🐨 (no koalas were harmed during parkrun Jeff's post parkrun snack time 👍🏻).

The forecast is looking very promising for Saturday's parkrun at Vermuyden Way parkrun! Almost perfect conditions for a big fluff-ball! Let's hope the forecast doesn't change so parkrun Jeff can be in attendance! 🤞🏻 🤞🏻 🐾 🐾

A few weeks ago, superfan Megan eagerly messaged to check if parkrun Jeff would be at Vermuyden Way parkrun today. As we were unsure of the weather, we couldn't confirm yes or no. ✅ ❌

However, the morning started pretty fresh so parkrun Jeff rocked up to ably assist the timekeepers (someone has to keep them in check) and got to meet superfan Megan. ⏱️

Megan was absolutely in awe of parkrun Jeff, some say she achieved a lifetime goal this morning... 🤔😅.

Post-parkrun, things were warming up so parkrun Jeff was transported in a fully climate-controlled vehicle 🚙 up to the café, where he proceeded to consume as much of his friends’ breakfasts as he could possibly get away with. 🐾🍳🥓. Celebrity treatment, obviously. 😎

Megan is now living in hope that parkrun Jeff makes it over to Beverley Westwood one day so she can meet him all over again. 🐄

Oh, the injustice! 😭🐾

I was all set to be today's tailwalker but after spending the whole week slowly melting into a Golden Retriever puddle in 30°C+ heat, my humans said, "Not today, Jeff."

So now I'm lying here, dramatically sulking, while everyone else has all the fun. Worst of all? I'm missing the legendary Social Media Fairy from Haigh Woodland parkrun who has apparently has been promoted to Sausage Fairy today, just for me! 🌭✨

To make matters worse, I've heard rumours there are actual sausages in this very fridge... the one I'm now lying next to with Olympic-level patience and unwavering hope. 👀🐶

Will a sausage ease my heartbreak? Maybe a little. Will it make up for missing parkrun and the Sausage Fairy? Absolutely not. But I'm willing to conduct extensive taste-testing in the interests of science.

Saturday mornings are SO much better when I'm going to Vermuyden Way parkrun! 🐾😃

The excitement levels were through the woof as soon as I realised I was being loaded into the car for the short journey up Idle Bank. Tail wagging? Absolutely. Zoomies? Nearly, before I remembered I'm nearly 11 and haven't done that kind of thing for a few years.🤫

As soon as I arrived, I was greeted by TWO superfans who had travelled all the way from Gosport just to see me! 🤩 (Disclaimer: I cannot independently verify the accuracy of this statement.)

Not only had they travelled over 200 miles to meet your favourite golden retriever, they came bearing gifts... healthy air-fried sausages! 🌭😍 What absolute legends. Thank you so much. Please come and visit again!

Then it was time for parkrun duties. I took up position at the bridge, where there was a mini disco in full swing while I marshalled runners and walkers. 🎶🐕 Loads of lovely people stopped to say hello, offer fusses, and admire my magnificent fluff as they passed underneath.

After all that hard work, it was back to the café for even more snacks. My new bestie Tracy made sure my glorious coat stayed in tip-top condition by placing a serviette under my chin while I tucked in. That's friendship right there. Please visit again. 👍🏻 ❤️

An absolutely epic morning all round. I'm now snoozing in the sunshine with a full tum and very happy dreams of sausages.

😌 🪷 🐾 CALMNESS HAS BEEN RESTORED! Phew. 🐾🪷 😌

After last week’s no-show 🚫 which left many adoring fans up and down the country inconsolable 😭💔, I was back in action this morning at Vermuyden Way parkrun! And oh boy, I had the best time. ❤️ ☀️

It was a little bit too warm for any kind of walking shenanigans for me, so I took on the very important role of Chief Cheerleader. I happily relaxed and watched all 107 of you zoom between the waterways and cross that finish line! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💨

The post-run rewards were top-tier today:

Pet Human #1 provided treats aplenty. 🍖

Pet Human #2 bought me a sausage in the Happy Cafe. 🌭

All in all, a totally fantabulous morning. I hope you humans enjoyed it as much as I did! See you next time! 🐕💨 ❤️🐾

🐾 🚨 URGENT PUBLIC APOLOGY FROM THE DESK OF pARKRUN JEFF 🚨🐾

To my adoring fans, specifically my new besties Matty, Kirsty, and Milo the dog... I messed up. 😭

Word has reached me that you travelled ALL the way from Birkenhead to Vermuyden Way parkrun yesterday morning just to see me. And worse? YOU BROUGHT TREATS. Treats that are currently not in my belly. This is not just a tragedy, it is a national scandal. 🦴❌

Where was I? Look, a Golden Retriever’s schedule is incredibly demanding. There were squirrels that needed staring at, a patch of sunlight on the rug that required urgent napping, and honestly, my fur-do takes time. But missing out on snacks? I am physically sick over this. 😭

I hereby solemnly swear to be there on your next visit! I will personally inspect those Birkenhead treats and give Milo a proper post-run sniff. 🦴

⚠️ MANAGEMENT NOTE: To avoid future heartbreak, please contact my PA (Personal Assistant / Human) before making the trek next time, just to double-check my social calendar. Apparently, I am "not allowed to run the diary anymore" after yesterday's mishap.

The sun was shining this morning on the beautiful dogs (and people) down on the riverbank at Vermuyden Way parkrun. ☀️

Following a slightly shaky start on the treat/sausage front, things took a turn for the better when faithful Janice rocked up armed with Jeff treats. 😋

Fusses were in abundance today from many of the wonderful peeps in attendance. parkrun Jeff met lots of doggy friends too. 🐾💗

The Happy Cafe was a very happy place for parkrun Jeff who appreciated the swift delivery of his post parkrun sausage. Cut perfectly in bitesize chunks, it topped off a glorious morning. 🌭

Guess who was the "Branch" Manager of the woods this morning? The one and only, parkrun Jeff! 🐕🌲

parkrun Jeff donned his high-vis vest to help out with some parkrun marshaling down at Vermuyden Way parkrun and we think he did a pretty paws-ome job! 🦺 🐾

His favourite part (well apart from the Happy Cafe) was the "run-through" ear scratches he received mid-run. 🥰
