It is with great sadness that we also announce the passing of former club member and 1st XI player, Stuart Underwood, who also featured for Quarndon, Duffield and Stainsby captaining their sides and ensuring cricket was played in the right spirit, hard and fair.

Words by our honorary member Trevor Jones; “I played with, and against, Stuart a fair few times, he was a fierce competitor who mellowed as he got older, a good chap to have on your side.”

Stuart’s competitive nature and talent shows being a former MCC player and a National Village Cup winner, lifting the trophy at Lord's in 1983 with Quarndon. Thus ensuring he would be a name to be remembered and honoured throughout the local cricketing world.

Our thoughts are with his family and friends.

A few words to commemorate Terry Dorr following his sad passing.

We wish to state that we saw him as a respected umpire on the DCCL circuit and have fond memories of his time spent down at Meadows. Always friendly and a great person who will be sadly missed throughout grassroots cricket in Derbyshire.

We send condolences to his family and friends, fellow ACO umpiring colleagues and also to our neighbours ambergatecc of whom Terry loved and was Chair of the club there for many years ensuring the future of Ambergate CC.

Champions 🏆

The Belper Meadows 3rd XI have won the DCCL Division 7 North - with three weeks to spare. A 267-run demolition of Stanton by Dale 2nd XI sealed the title in style.

Centuries for Rob Borland and Jude Brown, and miserly spells from Mohsin Ayaz, Mick Jackson, Ben Wilkinson and Ben Smith. An outstanding team effort all season.
