Monday evening match results
Sewerage works section

As the saying goes "expect the unexpected "
Tony Carline waggler fished maggot and after a few small silvers he hooked and lost a barbel, after persistent heavy feeding he hooked another, this time he got the upper hand and the prize was his, well done that man 👏

Quite a lot of species caught tonight by our 7 competitors, Roach, dace, roach/bream hybrid, gudgeon, ruffe and the obligatory minnows and trout.
Also 2 small chub caught tonight which were marked with a blue dot, these were stocked around 2 years ago and are doing well.

1st Tony Carline 6lb 14oz
2nd Martin Jacques 1lb 3oz
3rd Ron Harris 1lb 2oz
4th Ian Gregory 11oz
5th Phil Munslow 4oz

Well done to everyone who took part 🎣

It's great to see anglers back on the river again!

What many might not realise is just how peaceful and picturesque our stretch of the Erewash Canal is, especially in its summer clothes.

Our stretch runs from Langley Mill (close to KFC), south as far as Shipley Lock. It's free to fish for club members, and can also be fished on a day ticket (which must be purchased in advance from one of our outlets).

After long discussions by the Belper AC committee it was passed to provide a WC at the pond for the benefit of the members.
Th WC has not yet reached its first weeks birthday only being delivered six days ago. Today I arrived at the pond to find the toilet bowl full of excrement and paper I managed to flush this away with the help of a trowel and some extra water from in the river. This will be the last time that I or any of the committee will be cleaning other people’s filth away this is not acceptable and further misuse will lead to the facility being removed.
It’s always the few who spoil it for the majority.

We now have a WC at the pond.

Initially we are trialling this for 3 months, we request that everyone treats this with respect and leaves it in good order after each use.

A successful trial period will result in us looking to make this a regular facility at the pond.

If this is abused we will have no alternative than to remove the facility.

There will be a combination lock fitted in due course, so as to gain entry you will need to use the PIN code on page 3 of your membership book.

Thank you

The Committee
