Sunday 6th September

Some decent weights for the first round of the series, plenty of roach, rudd, perch with also 6 bream caught by the top 3 anglers.

Fishing his first ever match was Andy Cummings, drawn on peg 22 he waggler fished caster for 4 bream and also roach and perch to take top spot with 18lb 9oz. Well done that man! 🎣

The silver fish form of the river continues to show. Here, young Finlay did what his dad has so far failed to do, in banking a 1lb Derwent roach. He followed this up next cast with his first ever dace, at 8oz! Quite a brace for a seven year-old.

We're sure there will be even better to come as these fish fatten up for the colder months.

Our club volunteers are not here to clean up after you!

This was left on peg 10 of Wyver Lane Pond on Monday afternoon.

Any member caught littering will be brought before the Committee to explain their actions!

Phil Munslow had this lovely mixed bag from the Top stretch alongside the pond on waggler fished maggot.

Great to see a few more species starting to show now the river has filled back up, his catch of Roach, dace, chublets and also had
4 Roach/bream hybrids and 2 small skimmer bream 🎣

Autumn series Silverfish league starts Sunday 6th September on Wyver Lane Pond.

The league will be fished in memory of John Barlow and his family have kindly donated a trophy 🏆.

All members are welcome to fish these matches, whether you fish 1 or all 6 the choice is yours.

£10 pools for each match, all money paid in is paid out.

Silverfish only no carp to be weighed in

The league is decided on section points, example a section of 6 anglers will be 1 point for a section win, down to 6 points for last in section. Any angler not weighing in will score 7 points. 8 points for not attending.

Out of the 6 results you drop your highest score with the other 5 results going to the final league standings.

We've had a number of enquiries from members who wish to take part in the upcoming matches on the pond and the river.

So whether you are a seasoned match angler or just starting out and want to give it a try, below is some information to get you started.

-All members are welcome to attend club matches

-Please book on via the Facebook post for each match or contact Paul Spencer on 07749267158

- Pools for matches are £10, all money paid in is paid out

-Sunday matches are 8am draw fish 9.30am to 2.30pm

- Our matches are all about being inclusive, with fun friendly banter and enjoying the day on the bank together

-Through these matches there's a great opportunity to view different tactics, methods and feeding patterns, with many anglers happy to pass on tips and tricks to add to your armoury!

Water level on the Top stretch is now back up to full capacity,
and the pond is filling up nicely too, this net of skimmers were caught on groundbait feeder tactics this morning 🎣👍
