To the dance parent with a dance bag in the backseat of your car:

There will come a day when that bag will not be there anymore.

No bobby pins scattered on the floor.

No water bottle rolling around every time you make a turn.

No asking, “Do you have your shoes?” as you pull out of the driveway.

Right now, that bag may feel like one more thing in an already busy day.

One more class.

One more rehearsal.

One more costume.

One more place you need to drive.

And let’s be honest, you may not miss the smell coming from that bag.

But someday, you may miss what it meant.

Because that dance bag is carrying far more than shoes and tights.

It is carrying the art they love, friends they are growing up with, teachers who believe in them, confidence they are building, and a piece of their childhood.

Your child is not simply going to dance class.

They are finding a place to belong.

They are growing up, one dance class at a time.

How cool is that!

So in the middle of the rushing, take a moment to appreciate that bag.

It will not be in your backseat forever.

And one day, you just may wish it were.

We are absolutely bursting with pride as we celebrate our incredible dancer Blaire, on gaining a place at the Dance School of Scotland! 🌟🎉

Blaire has been part of the EDA since she was just 4 years old, and from the very beginning, she fell in love with performing 🎭. Watching her grow into the confident, passionate and truly captivating performer she is today has been such a joy. At just 14, her stage presence is simply unreal and she lights up every stage she steps onto!

We are beyond thrilled to have been part of her journey so far, and every single person at Elisa’s Dance Academy couldn’t be prouder. 💖

Blaire, this is only the beginning, we cannot wait to see you shine as you embark on this sensational new chapter. The future is yours! ✨

Important information !!

To Clarify;

The Neighbourhood Centre is NOT closing, a group who are funded by NLC are under threat due to the lack of funding available to accommodate running this particular group, which unfortunately may have to close should NLC not reconsider. The centre will remain open, EDA are still running all classes from the venue and the Academy is very much safe.

Our Sat students have now stopped for a well earned rest for our Easter rest and reset.

Somewhere along the way, many dancers start to believe:
“If I’m not training, I’m falling behind.”
“If I rest, someone else is getting ahead.”
“If I slow down, I’ll lose my place.”
So you keep going.
Through tiredness, soreness and mental exhaustion.

And from the outside, it can look like dedication, but on the inside It can start to feel like pressure.

Because your body is still growing, your mind is still developing and your nervous system needs time to recover.

Rest is not a weakness in dance, it’s part of how you:
✨ build strength
✨ prevent injury
✨ stay mentally focused
✨ enjoy what you’re doing
Without it, burnout can creep in.

The strongest dancers long-term aren’t the ones who never stop.
They’re the ones who learn when to push, and when to pause.

Because looking after yourself isn’t falling behind.
It’s what allows you to keep going.

Burnout in young dancers is more common than we talk about.

Students and parents enjoy rest, Sat classes return sat 18th April 2026. Week day students finish up next Thursday. đź’•
