There I said it.

Despite what everyone keeps saying, I believe that yoga is NOT for everyone!

Yoga is for the brave.
It's for the ones who want to challenge their mental and physical abilities. They want to try, to learn something new and to be prepared to fail and to fall. Multiple times. Then pick themselves back up and start again.

Yoga is for the willing.
It's for those dedicated to 5am, 6 days a week practice sessions - all year round. It's for those who can only fit in 5-minutes while the kids (pets) are asleep. It's for the people who understand that yoga is so much more than the practice on the mat.

Yoga is for the inflexible.
It's for the people who can't touch their toes, but want to loosen off years of tension built up in their bodies. It's for those who want to expand their minds, to entertain new ideas and improve their neuroplasticity.

But most of all Yoga is for the people who don't mind making mistakes, mixing up their lefts and rights, are prepared to be humbled on their mat and still show up the next day. It's for those not afraid of hard work - physical and mental.

So you see, yoga is not for everyone because not everyone is
Brave
Willing
Inflexible

Have you booked your class yet?

Here's your mid-week reminder to carve out time for yourself. To relax, to recharge, to switch off from the lists and responsibilities for a short time.

This is time for you, to tend to your own wellbeing by shutting off the outside world and stepping onto your mat.

Many people come to class from very stressful jobs. But they know that making it to class is doing something positive for themselves.

When they head home they sleep better, have more energy to spend time with their loved ones and so much more.

There are a few spaces left to practice with me this week -

Candlelit Yin / Thursday / 7.15pm-8.15pm / Ripple Effect Wellbeing Centre
** 2 spaces left for Yin this week.

Immersive Yoga / Saturday / 10.15am-11.15am / Motherwell Library
** 4 spaces left for Immersive Yoga this Saturday.

S E P T E M B E R

Pumpkin spiced latte season is upon us and the slow descent into autumn has definitely started.

In TCM this time of the year is known as Late Summer. This season is associated with the earth element, grounding, establishing routines and setting boundaries. It's also linked with the organs of the stomach and spleen.

For me, September is definitely a return to routine. But it's also important for me to set some realistic priorities for the month ahead. This will help me use Late Summer as a bridge between the heat and joy of summer and the cooler more yin autumn.

What are your priorities for September? Let me know below 🫶 and let's support each other this month

Let's make social media Social again.

I'm bringing back Friday Follows, sharing some love for accounts, businesses and people who are worth taking a look at.

First up is a few of my favourite places to eat, and bonus points for them all being dog friendly 🐶

Dockyard Social is my go to place on a Saturday after class. The atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and it's nice to be able to enjoy something different for lunch. Plus, Jackson loves people watching and enjoy the mocktails 🍹

The Hub Cafe another dog friendly place and handy for walking to. We've enjoyed a nice brunch as well as tea and cake here. Always a friendly smile when we visit.

Dalziel Park Hotel this is only dog friendly in the bar area, but definitely worth a visit. I've had a few tasty meals in here and Jackson has always been made to feel like the ⭐️ he is.

Do you have any recommendations of dog friendly places I could visit? Leave me a comment 👇 and make sure to check out the ones I've shared here.
