The mind's primary function is to keep us safe and that can make us swing the club in some amazingly good and amazingly daft ways.

Guessing when each of them might occur is quite a game and one you could win at by measuring your Attitude, Attention and Intention and then Move Towards Green.

When we watch another golfers behaviour on the tee for example, we can almost see what's going on with their thinking and we could with reasonable certainty say whether it's going to result in a good shot or not.

And often I hear golfers say "I knew that wasn't right" and fail to have the investment in themselves to stop and reset, until everything they actually want is in place.

I have recently been training golfers in the art of stepping away from the ball when ready to swing, refocus and step in again.

When we are comfortable doing that, we give ourselves permission to do it when playing.

Please build this into your practice and see how it feels.
