Fortwilliam Golf Club

Fortwilliam Golf Club The home of golf in North Belfast. Fortwilliam Golf Club is located off the Antrim Road at Downview Avenue in the suburbs of North Belfast.
(328)

Established in 1891, Fortwilliam Golf Club is a Par 70 course nestled in the base of Cavehill Country Park, offering breath taking views over Belfast Lough, the iconic home of the Titanic. Established in 1891, the club is the true home of golf in Belfast. It is situated in an area of natural beauty offering stunning views of a tranquil Cavehill to the north-west and the busy Belfast Lough to the e

ast. Although not a long course, it provides a good test of golf as most holes have narrow tree-lined fairways and difficult-to-read greens. It measures over 6000 yards, Par 70. The clubhouse has excellent bar and restaurant facilities with a vibrant social life. The Pro Shop is ran by PGA Professional Ricky Duckett and his assistant Chris Crangle.

What a fantastic weekend at the Cavehill Classic!

Today’s Better Ball event had a great turnout, great golf, great weather and, most importantly, a fantastic atmosphere around the club!

A huge thank you to everyone who took part and helped make our first Cavehill Classic such a success.

A special thank you to all of our members, guests, volunteers and staff whose support made the event possible, and to our sponsor Simon Brien for helping us launch the event.

Congratulations to all of our prize winners over both days, and we hope everyone enjoyed the golf, food and entertainment.

Here’s to an even bigger and better Cavehill Classic 2027! ⛳🏆

Good luck to everyone competing in today’s 18 Hole Better Ball. We hope you all enjoy a fantastic day of golf.

Don’t forget to stay around after play for the prize presentation, followed by live entertainment this evening in the clubhouse. It’s set to be a great way to round off the inaugural Cavehill Classic.

Congratulations to all of tonight’s Friday Night Pairs Scramble prize winners, and thank you to everyone who took part and helped create such a brilliant atmosphere around the club.

It was great to see so many members and guests enjoying the golf, BBQ and sunshine (…and fair share on rain at one stage)

Good luck to everyone playing tomorrow—we’re looking forward to another fantastic day at Fortwilliam! ⛳🏌️

Thanks to Elemental Consultants for their long term sponsorship of the 3rd hole at Fortwilliam.

Playing off our ‘crossover’ tee box, the 3rd presents an interesting second shot. Aim 10yd short of the front and that should allow the ball to run down onto the green.

If you are going to carry it on to the green take an extra club to avoid the slopes shooting the ball into tree trouble behind the green.
