Titanic Quarter Cycling Club

Titanic Quarter Cycling Club Titanic Quarter Cycling Club 2014 was a great year for NI and for Titanic Quarter.

Having witnessed the success of the Giro d’Italia a group of likeminded cycling enthusiasts came together to form what we hope will someday be one of the country’s most exciting cycling clubs. Whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced cyclist you will receive the warmest of welcomes at TQCC. Apart from organised weekend training rides the club plan to host a sportive as well as an annual endurance cycle for those of you who really love a challenge.

🚴‍♂️ What an incredible weekend for the Titanic Quarter Cycling Club! 🚴‍♀️

We had an absolute blast riding from Belfast to Dublin and back along our nostalgic Maracycle route. A massive shoutout to our 36 amazing riders and 4 phenomenal support crew members who made this happen!

Saturday: Belfast to Dublin
With a staggered start, our B3 group set off bright and early at 6 AM, followed by B2 at 7 AM, and B1 at 8 AM. The staggered times worked perfectly! Everyone converged at our 55-mile halfway point at The Lisdoo in Dundalk. As one group was leaving, the next was rolling in, giving everyone a great chance to catch up and cheer each other on. The breakfast baps were definitely the fuel of choice for the journey ahead! 🥓🍳

Thanks to the staggered departures, all three groups arrived in Dublin around the same time. Once the bikes were securely locked up at DCU, we headed straight to the NuBar for some well-deserved refreshments and a fantastic group dinner. 🍻
A few riders took the evening train home, while others stayed over to catch the Sunday train.

Sunday: The Return Journey
For the remaining riders, it was time to saddle up and pedal back to Belfast! We rode in two groups: B2 hitting the road at 7 AM and B1 at 8 AM. Our planned lunch at Strandfield was a bit too busy, but we quickly pivoted and split between Ma Brady's and The Rabbit Hole Cafe in Dundalk, which were spot on. ☕🥪

Home Safe and Sound
Everyone made it home safely, capping off a truly amazing weekend for the club. It was brilliant to see all the different groups mixing, laughing, and celebrating together.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part, and an extra special thanks to our support crew for keeping the wheels turning.
Most importantly, all of this effort and miles in the saddle was to raise funds for a fantastic cause—the Cancer Fund for Children. 💛
