Race day!! 🎀
I must admit, this was a huge win for me…
When I opened the gym in October I was running the whole thing by myself, I was coaching all the hours and stress was at a max lol
Ive always had really weak hips and due to the mass amount of pressure on my body, my mind, lack of sleep, nutrition up the left, lack of recovery I ended up with tendonitis in both my knees
BASICALLY my knees where taking all the load that my hips just didn’t wanna take lol
The next 8 months were spent in literal agony- I literally couldn’t bend my knees without shooting pain Going up and down stairs was agony, getting in and out of bed was agony, I acc felt 100 years old god bless!!!
So as you could image, I couldn’t strength train LOL I couldn’t do the thing I loved the most, the thing that kept me sane and made me feel like myself!
All while trying to coach, run a successful business, welcome amazing women into the gym and give my everything every single day 💕
I had to strip it all back, to literal ground zero
I had to lean on the other coaches so I could acc sit down and rest, work on getting my sleep back to some sort of normality, and finally in April I was able to dedicate time to go to physio and work on my recovery (big shout our to our amazing coaching team Kerry, Alanna and Natalia doing the lords work!!!)
It was some SERIOUS graft, if you’ve ever been to physio you no its a lot of dedication and consistency
Now I’m no where near back to myself, but this was massive
To actually run 21.1km and enjoy it?? January 2026 Jenna would never have believed it
Big shout out to Ryan from Lisburn Physiotherapy for helping me get to the start line, never mind the finish line!!!!!
Never ever give up on yourself
