Some post race reflections ๐Ÿ’ญ

Sometimes we donโ€™t appreciate the effort and dedication required to achieve a big goal.

In my case, I thought just saying I was going to hit a certain time would be enough and on the day I could dig in and get there no matter how much it hurt.

Truth was I hadnโ€™t done anywhere near enough training and wasnโ€™t in the condition needed to get a sub 1.28 half marathon.

Obviously my initial reaction when I knew I was some way off was one of disappointment but this soon turned to a feeling of pride for some of the past races where Iโ€™ve maybe overlooked my achievements.

With no more races in the pipeline for sometime the plan is to have a good winter of training so that come 2024 we can right a few wrongs ๐Ÿซก
