Last Saturday, our members young and old came together to celebrate the club at our annual Dinner and Awards evening.

We celebrated the success of our members over the last year and enjoyed reminising on what a brilliant 25/26 season the club has had.

We held a raffle with all the proceeds going towards our club charity, Alzheimer's Society. Thank you to everyone that donated some fantastic prizes and those that took part! Jealous of the Parkrun Monopoly winner!
We raised a fantastic Β£400 which will be added to our total.

Our Coaches and Committee give out numerous awards on the night to some very deserving club members.
Every year, it gets harder and harder to choose a recipient, which is a good thing as every one of our members gives 110% (but it is a nightmare for our coaches! πŸ˜‚)

Congratulations to all of the Award recipients!

It was a fantastic night celebrating together, bring on the 26/27 season!

πŸ”₯ THE CLUB RELAY RETURNS! πŸ”₯

Yesterday saw the return of our annual Willowfield Harriers Club Relay β€” and what a race! πŸ˜πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ

14 teams. 4 runners per team. 1 set of club honours. πŸ†

The pre-race nerves were REAL 😬 Everyone wanted to run well β€” not just for themselves, but for their teammates counting on them!

This year brought a new venue and a tough challenge, with runners taking on two-mile loops around Stormont πŸŒ³πŸ’¨

And it was CLOSE… πŸ‘€

The lead changed hands multiple times throughout the race, with every runner giving absolutely everything for their team. πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

In fact, our eventual winning team were sitting in 14th position after the first runners completed their leg β€” proving that it really is never over until it’s over, and teaching us all an important lesson: never give up! πŸ’ͺ

Then came the nail-biting finale… 🫣

πŸ† A TEAM COMPRISED OF FOUR JUNIORS TOOK THE WIN! πŸ†πŸŽ‰

And in a battle that went right to the very end, one of our youngest runners found themselves battling it out with one of our oldest β€” a brilliant reflection of what makes Willowfield Harriers so special: a club for all ages and all abilities. πŸ’™

Huge congratulations to our winning team β€” and a massive well done to every single athlete who raced. The effort, teamwork and club spirit were brilliant from start to finish. πŸ’™πŸ‘

Five adventurous Willowfielders took on the Bluestacks Way Ultra 25km in Donegal last weekend. With steep mountain climbs, knee deep bogs, long grass and chest high ferns on an unmarked course, their navigation skills were well and truly tested!
Despite a wrong turn, Kathryn finished as 3rd female, a great achievement after last weekends 24 Hr relay efforts!

Brilliant running from everyone! (Even though it doesn’t contribute to club championship points!!!)

Lee Kelly 3:45:52
Kelly Hargie 3:46.45
Kip Alizadeh 3:46.45
