Please read the story of the Smyth’s below, and the challenge Dean has taken on this month to support a fantastic charity that means so much to them and many other families.
As it’s Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, I wanted to do my little bit to help raise awareness and hopefully some money for a charity that has done so much for us and Darcie throughout her journey — B Positive
Five years ago, Darcie was diagnosed with leukaemia. Since then, she has faced more than any child ever should, but she has continued to fight every single step of the way.
During September, an average of 5 children in Northern Ireland are expected to be diagnosed with cancer — five families whose lives will suddenly change forever. 💔
So, I’ve decided to run 5 miles every day throughout September to raise awareness and hopefully raise some money along the way. 🏃🏼♂️🎗️
Although, being me… I managed to get my dates mixed up and started on 2nd September instead of the 1st! 🙈😂 So, I’m extending the challenge until 2nd October to make sure I still complete the full 30 days!
B Positive is a local, family-run charity that supports families going through childhood cancer treatment. They have been there for us throughout Darcie’s journey and continue to go above and beyond for families when they need it most. Every single pound raised can make a difference to a family going through the toughest time imaginable.
If you would like to support me, I’d really appreciate it and if anyone fancies joining me for a run along the way… you’re more than welcome! 😬🏃🏼♂️
Thanks everyone for the support. 🎗️
