We are deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Philip McCloy.
A true gentleman in every sense, he was humble, kind, well-mannered and grateful for every opportunity. A gentle giant with a wicked sense of humour, he could keep a whole room entertained with his stories, his taste in music and his brilliant anecdotes. He also had a little nugget of life advice for everyone he met at SkilledNI.
One moment sums him up perfectly. As he entered our awards ceremony last year, he took off his hat. When I joked that we weren’t going into church, he replied, ‘I know, but I like to show respect.’ That was simply who he was: thoughtful, chivalrous and respectful of everyone around him.
He will be remembered by us with enormous warmth and affection and our heartfelt condolences go to his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.
