Athleticism After 40 🏃♂️💪
After 40, muscle isn’t just about having more size or looking leaner.
It’s about keeping your athleticism.
Being able to sprint, jump, change direction, accelerate, decelerate, get off the ground, carry things, move explosively, and trust your body to do what you ask of it.
That’s what we should be training for.
Because getting older doesn’t mean you have to become less athletic. But if you stop challenging your body, you will gradually lose the qualities that make you feel capable.
Strength gives you the foundation. Muscle gives you the capacity. Athletic training teaches you how to use it.
After 40, your training should include more than just lifting weights for aesthetics.
🏋️ Build and maintain muscle
⚡ Train power and explosiveness
🏃♂️ Keep sprinting and moving fast
🦵 Train balance, stability and coordination
🤸♂️ Maintain mobility and range of motion
🎯 Challenge your body in different planes and positions
You don’t need to train like you’re 20.
You need to train so that your 50-year-old self can still move like an athlete.
Because the goal isn’t simply to live longer.
It’s to stay capable while you’re here.
Your 40s aren’t the beginning of slowing down.
They can be the beginning of training with a whole new purpose.
