Weekend Review

Division 2
Ballywalter 1 point (64 shots) Vs Ewarts A 6 points (86 shots)

It was a great performance by Ewarts to come away with 6 points at Ballywalter. 3 rinks won with the other narrowly losing. Victor Atkinson's rink opened up an early lead with some great bowls and they kept that lead right through to the end, earning a well deserved point. Well done to Peter Dew's rink who were involved in a very close game, with the score being all square in the last end. But the whole rink kept their cool and they got a 5 to get their win. Andrew Duff's rink got the other point with the front end of Cath and Eddie C playing well throughout the afternoon.

Division 4
Ewarts B 2 points (69 shots) Vs Balmoral B 5 points (73 shots)

This was another good Ewarts B team performance who lost by only 4 shots. They are improving each week and are getting closer to gaining their first win of the season. There were a number of the B team regulars missing this week, some with illness and others being promoted to the senior team. Thanks to all of those that filled in and played so well.
Richard Bell's rink had a great win and Richard played some outstanding bowls in their 33-6 victory. Apparently he has been in great form the last few weeks which hopefully will continue. Ryan Holland's rink got the other point. Both Ryan and Alex his third played brilliantly, and they both adapted to their new roles well.

A special mention to our President Richard Mawhinney. He ruptured his achilles at the start of the season, playing the dangerous sport of walking football and was not supposed to play bowls again this season. The B team were a man short due to illness and Richard filled in so that the team did not go out short. This has to be the biggest comeback since the Spice Girls in 2019. Well done Richard!!
