The Truth About Running a Gym in Today’s World
12 years ago, a gym membership was £30 a month. Today? Still £30. But behind the scenes, everything else has skyrocketed—electricity, rent, wages, transaction fees, interest rates—you name it.
Despite these rising costs, many gyms (including ours) choose to keep prices the same, sacrificing profit so our members can continue training without extra financial burden.
To put it into perspective—if we increased membership by just £5 a month, we’d make an extra £27,000 per year, which would cover all the rising costs. But we choose not to, because keeping fitness affordable for our members matters more.
What’s even more frustrating? Many gyms take the easy, illegal route to safeguard their profits—but we never have, and never will. We stand by honest values, putting the health and safety of our members—especially the youth—above everything else.
Next time someone says, “It’s all about the money,” take a step back and see the bigger picture. Real businesses, real gyms, and real owners do this for the love of the game—not just the numbers.
Support your gym. Respect the grind. We’re in this together. 💪
