We would like to express our sincere gratitude and offer our best wishes to Jonny Addis as he departs Cliftonville after 5 terrific years at Solitude.
After signing in 2021, Jonny made an immediate impression, racking up back-to-back Player of the Month awards before finishing the season as the double Player of the Year for the club, as well as earning a place in the NIFWA Team of the Season, complementing his NIFL League Cup winner's medal for 2021/22.
Over the next 4 years, Jonny would amass a total of 227 appearances for the Reds, scoring 19 goals, two of which would earn him the club's Goal of the Season accolades in 2024 and 2026. However, it was his headed effort in the 2024 Irish Cup semi final that set up his finest hour in a Red shirt, as he was a key player in the side that ended 45 years of heartache for the Reds.
A further NIFL League Cup winner's medal would find its way around his neck in 2025 when the Reds won the trophy for the 7th time, bringing Jonny's medal count across his 5 seasons at the Reds to 3.
Jonny has been a stalwart throughout his time with the Reds, captaining the side on multiple occasions and leading the side through tumultuous times at the Reds in recent years.
What the future holds, we cannot say for certain. There is one thing we can say, though, and that's everybody loves Jonny Addis.
