Last but certainly not least!

We’re excited to announce two fantastic signings to complete the team.

Former Belfast Giant forward Gareth Roberts and top defenseman Dan McCall.

After a couple of seasons break we’re delighted to welcome back Gareth Roberts one of the best players Northern Ireland ice hockey has produced. Highly experienced, he’s won countless championships in the local game including League Championships with the Giants. He adds alot of firepower to the team especially on the PP and he’ll be an important piece of the puzzle this year as we aim to defend our NSMC Championship.

We also welcome defenseman Daniel McCall to the Renegades for the first time. We’ve been trying to get him signed up for a few seasons now and we’re glad to finally get his signature. He came up through the Junior Giants system, played big minutes for the SNL Belfast Giants and also played a number of seasons in Canada for the Meaford Knights. He’s physical, has a great shot and skates very well and will be one of the best defensemen in the League.

Coach Martin had this to say:
‘I’m very happy to get these two signings across the line. Gareth will add a lot of firepower especially on the power play and Dan will provide real stability and power at the back. He’s a tough dman to play against and will protect our goalies well.

I’m extremely happy with the team we’ve built. We haven’t sat still over the summer. We’ve improved the team with some big signings and we’re ready to get going…

We’re delighted to announce the return of two hard working players who’ve been with us since the start.

Welcome back Phil Catherwood and Chris Millar.

Phil has loads of experience in the local game having played in the SNL for the Belfast Giants. A hard working and quick forward who does all the little things right and is a real team player who can chip in with goals and kill penalties.

Millar as he’s affectionately known is a well liked team mate who has won alot in the Inline scene and is a double Champion with us.
He works hard, blocks shots and plays where his coach needs him to play.

The new threads feature gun metal shoulders to match our logo, bold black arm stripes, our signature red bands and enhanced performance sweat wicking material.

The Belfast Renegades are delighted to announce Invisible Building as our new title sponsor for the next two years

Invisible Building is an Independent Irish Shopify Studio.

Based in Belfast, Northern Ireland Invisible Building is a studio working on ambitious ecommerce projects with businesses who care about craft, growth, and longevity.

Invisible Building is led by David Shawe, a
designer/developer, and business growth partner experienced working on projects across the UK, Ireland and USA.

Outside of Shopify, Invisible Building has a focus on Tech For Good projects. Working on their own research projects and with other charities, non-profits and art projects with the aim to contribute to the world around us through invisible design.

David commented on the sponsorship opportunity with the team:

“I am super excited for the opportunity to support the Belfast Renegades.

I spend a lot of time looking at the screen and I get a lot of my work through Facebook business groups on Facebook.

I’d initially seen the opportunity and instantly thought what a cool jersey and sport and thought what an incredible marketing opportunity for my business.

I then spent an hour or so looking at the page of the Belfast Renegades and going on to YouTube to watch and learn about the Nigel Smeaton Memorial Cup.

Looking at the footage from the Dundonald International Ice Bowl, and all the photos of the Belfast Renegades celebrating and lifting the 2026 NSMC I 100% knew this was the opportunity that Invisible Building was waiting for.

Not only do we get to support an incredible sport and a successful team but we also get to support mens mental health through sport.

We’re delighted to announce the signings of forwards Nathan Clements and Dylan Kennedy.

Nathan Clement’s is an experienced versatile forward who came up through the Junior Belfast Giants system and the SNL Belfast Giants. Skilled and hard working he can play all positions to help the team and will be an important role player this coming season.
He signed for us a few seasons ago but due to health reasons he didn’t get showing us what he can do and we’re delighted he’s now back and raring to go.

Dylan Kennedy also came up through the ranks of local hockey playing for the SNL Belfast Giants. The speedy skilled winger has a great shot, full of grit and tenacity, goes to the net and works hard. He joined us late last season and fitted in great to our team and system and we’re looking forward to having him for a full season.

Defensive duo back for 2026/27 season

The Belfast Renegades are delighted to announce the return of solid defensive duo Robert Leckey and Jamie Crawford.

Coach Martin had this to say:
‘I’ve played and won alongside Leckey for many years and I know we can depend on him to be as solid as they come. He defends very well but has the ability to jump up into the play to provide offense with a big shot.

Jamie joined us last year and provided an excellent two way defensive game. He has a great first pass, smooth skating, strong board play and protects our goalies well. He’s a big part of our defensive unit. You can see why he plays at a good level in the SNL.

We’re excited to announce two further re-signings to the 2026/27 Renegades squad.

Veteran goal scorer Jonny Keaney and utility defenceman/forward Ray Karpinskis

Keaney has scored some huge goals for us over the last three seasons and we’re glad he’s back to wreak more havoc around the net. He has a high hockey iq and gets himself in the right spots to get important goals. He had the most MOTM’s and multi point games last year and we’ll be looking to him to continue getting amongst the points this season.

Raimonds is a highly experienced and respected player in Irish ice hockey and brings leadership, a calm presence and a willingness to do anything to help the team win wether that’s making a play or putting his body on the line to block a shot taking away a goal scoring opportunity, he’s a coaches dream. His four big memorable blocks on the PK in the Final back in April stand out in everyone’s mind and they were just as valuable as a goal.

Welcome back to these two classy veteran players.

We’re delighted to announce the re-signing of two young players who made a great impact on the team in their first year with us.

Welcome back forwards Ryan Thompson and Reece Parkhill.

Experienced and highly skilled inline player Ryan Thompson made a move to ice and scored some great goals for us last year with a lethal wrist shot that lit up many goalies over the years in the local inline scene. He’s also hard working and physical which is a trait we like to have on our team. Showing strength and physicality without over stepping the mark.

Reece is one of the hardest working and fastest players on the team. A great skater and he slots in and does whatever is asked of him which is all a coach can ask. A real utility player.

We’re excited to add two more pieces to the puzzle with a real mix of experience, leadership, skill, youth, physicality and tenacity so far.
