Have your say on National Lottery Good Causes Funding!

The government has launched a review of National Lottery Good Causes funding, asking the public to have their say on where the money should go and how it should be spent.

We encourage everyone with an interest in the future of National Lottery funding to take part in the consultation and share their views.

The call for evidence will end at midday on 23 September and is open to members of the public, organisations and communities across the UK.

Olympic Legacy Fund making a difference at Barbarians Wrestling Club!

The club raised funds through Crowdfunder and received match funding to enhance their facilities with a new wrestling mat for current members. It will also provide the opportunity to put on more sessions and attract new members to the club.

The Olympic Legacy Fund, made possible by Communities NI funding, aims to improve club and community sports facilities.

Three medals for Athlete Award recipient Alice Sharpe!

Former Olympian Alice (right) recently joined Sinead Greenan as guide for Cycling Ireland and claimed three medals across Para Cycling European and World Championships!

The pair won silver in the Road Race, in only their third race as a pairing, after a fourth place finish in the Time Trial at the European Championships.

They then claimed two more silver medals at the World Championships in the Time Trial and Road Race in their first races together at World Championship level!

Good luck to our NI swimmers at the World Para Swimming European Championships!

Dearbhaile Brady, Síomha Nic Brádaigh and Deaten Registe will compete from Monday 7 September to Saturday 12 September.

Síomha will be the first to dive in the pool in the 200m Individual Medley (SM7) on Monday with Dearbhaile and Deaten following on Wednesday.

Our Athlete Award continues to support NI athletes be amongst the best in the World!

Cycling Ireland rider Seth Dunwoody claimed the Men's U23 Points Race European title after a two year break from the track! He has now signed to Team Bahrain Victorious as part of the UCI WorldTour.

Our Athlete Award, funded by National Lottery Good Causes, is currently OPEN to mid year applications until Friday 4 September. Nominations should be made by governing bodies.

The club raised funds and received £32,370 of match funding through Sport NI to improve accessibility for disabled people, children, parents and everyone else in the local community ensuring facilities were safe to attend.

More medals for NI athletes on the elite stage at the World Rowing Championships!

Olympic gold medallist Hannah Scott and Finnola Stratton won silver in the Women's Quadruple Sculls as part of British Rowing.

Also, for Rowing Ireland, Konan Pazzaia won silver in the Mixed Double Sculls with Mags Cremen whilst Sophia Young came close to a spot in the Women's Quad Sculls A final but ended up finishing 3rd in the B Final.

For example, the new Neurodiversity Awareness and Inclusion in Sport course is designed to create environments where everyone can participate. 15-20% of the population are neurodivergent yet most sport systems are not designed to support their differences.

Our new course explores what neurodiversity means in sport and how individuals can feel understood, supported and able to engage in ways that work for them.
