Wasn’t our day but the boys gave everything can happily hold your hands up and accept defeat to a better team and today that happened fair play to oak who battled well for 90 minutes but this bunch of lads we have will go onto do something special and continue to grow two top teams in a brilliant final

Today we were in Trib cup action again against Burbage!
Burbage took a lead midway through the first half with a nice move down the left, topped off with a bit of luck as the ball in megged 2 lib defenders. Burbage 1 up at half time.
2nd half though the lads took over and lots of pressure paid off when a Bass long throw wasn’t dealt with by our opposition and Gav Steele was at the back post with a powerful strike into the bottom corner 5 minutes in. The next 25 mins was a hard fought battle with our lads getting on top with some fine defending and the midfield taking over, if not for some fine keeping from the Burbage no 1 we could have added another 4. 75th minute and Kuba managed to scramble the ball over the line, although the ref thought it was an OG 👀
Libs then killed the game off with 5 mins to go, this time Kuba turned provider as he squared the ball across the goal about 2 yards out and Kirk slid into the back of the net taking the ball with him.

3-1 Win for the Libs with a good battling performance. 🩵🩵

Semi Final weekend came with a bang

A near perfect performance from all our lads produced probably our performance of the season so far

Started lively with Exs keeper pulling off some very decent saves

But an unreal outside of the foot ball Pirlo esque from Jack sidwell sent through Ryan Jones to slot the first of the day home

Second goal come maybe 10 minutes later when smidge played a ball down the line to Sadler who spread the ball lovely to Jurky who teed up his shot and beat the keeper from range

Third goal come just before half time with Ryan jones breaking the lines again and producing another tidy finish

Fourth goal come from Jurky with some very tidy team build up play

A few changes to the team had now been made and Will R runs down the line leaving the defender scrambling on his hands and knees to square the ball across the box for a Kenny Davies tap in making it 5

Think the ex at this point had given up and will R got himself on the score sheet firing home a penalty keeping up his brilliant goal scoring form this season

Finished it off with a long range worldie for our skipper Fieldsy to smash it bottom corner

As far as Sunday league performances go it was pretty much a perfect game from our boys and MOTM could have gone to anyone but a solid performance at the back from prestan earned him the free MOTM beer this weekend

Into the final where we will face Attleboro Royal Oak on the 16th march at the piv

Cup action today away at Burbage, a slow start from the libs lads made for an evenly contested first half with both teams having chances but unable to convert, Todd pulled off a decent one on one save about half hour in to keep it level. 2 minutes before the half a bit of libs pressure and a poor clearance from burbage allowed Jurkie to fire us into a 1-0 lead just before half time.
A better 2nd half from the Libs as we started to take control of the game, we went down to 10 for a short while with a sinbin but that didn’t stop Ryan firing in from 20 yards, 2-0.
Substitute Gav was able to provide for Will with a curling ball behind their backline and Will put in the net after a couple of bites at the cherry. 3-0 and the game put to bed with a very well deserved clean sheet. Through to the next round where we face Bedworth ex servicemen’s reserves

With it being the first game of 2025 it was safe to say the lads started off a bit rusty. The first goal came from a brilliant run on the left hand side from Ryan jones and putting a hard drilled cross into the box to be met by the blistering pace of Marcus and finished it with great finesse. Towards the end of the first half the lads were looking a bit leggy and it showed when a needless free kick was given away infront of goal. The free kick was despatched effortlessly into the top corner. The keeper stood 5ft 10" and jumped 4ft 8" 1-1 HT.
a few changes in the second half to the 11 seemed to change the game. A 50yard floated pass from Jack sidewell landed between Ryan and the goalkeeper with Ryan courageously out muscling the goalkeeper and finishing with style 2-1. Some more changes followed with stogie & Robbie coming on to balance the midfield. The goals came to an end with Ryan hitting a gerrard like shot from outside the box finding the bottom corner. The keeper had no chance. FT LIBS 3 - GRIFF 1. Special mention to the defence who were all solid

Post Match Report: Bedworth Libs 5 - 3 FC Burbage

What. A. Game. Bedworth Libs absolutely smashed it with a 5-3 win over FC Burbage on our home patch. The lads put on a show.

It all started a bit scrappy – 20 minutes of rough and ready footy from both sides as everyone found their rhythm. But then boom – Jurky lit it up with a worldie of a pass, splitting the defense like it was nothing. Will Roe, cool as you like, buried it. 1-0 and the vibes were immaculate.

From there, it was all Bedworth Libs. The main man Sadler was on absolute flames, banging in a hat-trick like it was a Sunday stroll. Clinical, ruthless, unstoppable – you name it, he had it. Meanwhile, Jurky wasn’t just about the assists – he bagged a goal himself to cap off a standout performance.

Massive shoutout to Kuba and Aaron – those two were different gravy in midfield, bossing it from start to finish. Every duel, every 50/50, they were on it. They didn’t just play their boots off – they dominated, leaving Burbage chasing shadows.

Credit to Burbage – they grabbed a couple more goals, including a scrappy pen, trying to claw their way back. But let’s be real: they weren’t ready for our lads. Libs just kept piling it on, showing resilience and class to stay ahead. And at the back? Guage was a rock. Absolute MOTM performance, leading from the back and giving zero room for any serious comeback.

This dub puts Bedworth Libs 4th in the league. Game by game, we’re climbing – and there’s plenty more where that came from. The Libs are on the up.

Trib Cup today vs Three Horseshoes from Div 3.

The lads started a little cagey whilst getting used to the pitch but once that was sorted they took control of the first half.

Ryan Jones fresh out of Pop World had his dancing shoes on as he danced around 3 of their back line to smash home his first of the morning with his left foot.
Horseshoes got back into the game to make it 1-1 but shortly after a fine bit of defending from Gauge who then played out into the midfield where a couple of one twos from the midfield pair allowed space to cut through their defence to put Ryan in for his second as he smashed it past the keeper at his front post. 2-1
10 minutes later it was Ryan again with tidy finish to complete his first half hat trick (it’s been coming for weeks n he finally got it)
3-1 libs at half time.

Second half started pretty similar to the first as the lads pushed to kill the game off, a long throw wasn’t defended Roadman unselfishly laid a ball back for Smidge who forced a save from the keeper and Will Roe was there for the tap, a poachers finish. 4-1

Should have been 5-1 a few minutes later as Ryan smashed a shot towards goal that hit Will and fell kindly for veteran midfielder Scott who smashed one in to the bottom corner only for the flag to be raised as Will was in an offside position.

That didn’t matter too much though as Ryan beat the offside trap to run in behind and lofting it over the keeper, who was on the edge of his box for his 4th and libs 5th.

Lots of changes meant the lads all got plenty of minutes although Gobbo may wish he had slightly less as his wild swing on their striker resulted in a pen 5-2.
10 minutes from the end some questionable defending let Horseshoes back in as they made it 5-3 but some positive game management in the final 10 meant that the final score was 5-3 and we’re in the hat for the next round.
