Michele volunteered to write our latest Run Report. Thank you Michele!
parkrun report 13th June 2026
Saturday 13th June – the weekend of parkrun’s millionth event. Wow! I doubt Paul Sinton-Hewitt expected it to get so big when the first event happened at Bushy Park in in 2004, but what a fantastic thing it is! Bedworth was on event 340 and it was a lovely day to be out – not too hot and not too cold! How often can we say that in England!?
We are blessed with a beautiful park to run, or walk, round. I hope the 28 people who were at Bedworth for the first time enjoyed their visit, especially the 6 people who were experiencing their first ever parkrun. Welcome to the family! I hope it will become part of your Saturday routine. Before you know it, you will be looking where you can do parkrun when you are going on holiday, going to visit someone… addictive is probably too strong a word but…. see where it takes you!
There were a number of milestones celebrated this week. Jon Bowes reached 25 parkruns, Braden Nathan – 50, Peter Matkin – 100 and Keith Kondakor – 200. Well done to you all.
Joanna Bowes took the reins as RD for the first time and did an excellent job. We regulars at Bedworth are pleased to see you on the Core Team. Thank you for stepping up.
parkrun is entirely volunteer run, so a massive thank you to all who volunteered and ensured it could go ahead. Do try and make sure you take a turn at volunteering so that parkrun can continue to be there for everyone, well into the future. There is a whole range of roles that you can do, some allow you to run/walk too! Drop an e-mail to [email protected] to put yourself forward or if you have any questions about the roles.
