And that was Event #341

Congratulations to all 211 participants who took part and safely crossed the finish line at Bedworth parkrun this morning.

As always, a huge thank you to our wonderful team of volunteers. A special mention goes to David and Ronan, who volunteered with us for the first time, and to Fiona, who reached an amazing milestone by volunteering for the 100th time.

We were delighted to welcome 44 first timers to Bedworth, including 8 people completing their very first parkrun and 36 visitors joining us for the first time. Thank you for all your lovely comments about our marshals — they really are the best — our beautiful park, and the way we organise the event. Our Core Team works hard each week to make Bedworth parkrun a success, so we truly appreciate everyone who takes the time to share feedback.

Just a reminder that there will be no parkrun at Bedworth next Saturday, 27th June. We’ll be back as usual on Saturday, 4th July, and we look forward to seeing you then.

See you in the morning!

Please join us at 8.50am (ish) for our First Timer’s Welcome, or at 8.55am (ish) for the main event briefing. We really encourage everyone to listen in, especially if you’re new to parkrun or visiting.

It looks set to be a lovely morning, so don’t forget your barcode and please bring some water too.

🚨 HELP NEEDED FOR TOMORROW’S PARKRUN! 🚨

We’re very close to being able to go ahead tomorrow, but we still need a few more volunteers to step forward and save the day.

The roles we still need to fill are:

• Set up x 2 (a role you can do before you take part)
• Timekeeper
• Funnel manager
• Token giver
• Close down x 2 (a role you can do after taking part)

No volunteers means no parkrun, so if you can help, please get in touch as soon as possible. You don’t need experience — just a smile and enthusiasm.

Leave a comment below or email us ([email protected]) if you can help. Tomorrow’s core team will be very grateful!

🚨 Volunteers Needed for This Saturday’s parkrun! 🚨

Firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who has already offered to help this weekend – we really appreciate it! 🙌

To make sure Saturday’s event runs smoothly and safely, we still have a few key roles to fill. If you’re able to lend a hand, we’d love to hear from you:

👉 2 × Set Up
👉 1 × Timekeeper
👉 Funnel Manager
👉 Marshal (bottom of Miner’s Mount)
👉 Finish Token Presenter
👉 1 × Tail Walker
👉 1 × Token Sorter
👉 2 × Close Down

Volunteering is a great way to be part of the event, cheer others on, and give something back to our parkrun community – no experience needed, and we’ll support you every step of the way.

📩 If you can help, please email us ([email protected]) or add a comment below.

Let’s make it another fantastic parkrun at Bedworth – we can’t do it without you!

parkrun report 13th June 2026

Saturday 13th June – the weekend of parkrun’s millionth event. Wow! I doubt Paul Sinton-Hewitt expected it to get so big when the first event happened at Bushy Park in in 2004, but what a fantastic thing it is! Bedworth was on event 340 and it was a lovely day to be out – not too hot and not too cold! How often can we say that in England!?

We are blessed with a beautiful park to run, or walk, round. I hope the 28 people who were at Bedworth for the first time enjoyed their visit, especially the 6 people who were experiencing their first ever parkrun. Welcome to the family! I hope it will become part of your Saturday routine. Before you know it, you will be looking where you can do parkrun when you are going on holiday, going to visit someone… addictive is probably too strong a word but…. see where it takes you!

There were a number of milestones celebrated this week. Jon Bowes reached 25 parkruns, Braden Nathan – 50, Peter Matkin – 100 and Keith Kondakor – 200. Well done to you all.

Joanna Bowes took the reins as RD for the first time and did an excellent job. We regulars at Bedworth are pleased to see you on the Core Team. Thank you for stepping up.

parkrun is entirely volunteer run, so a massive thank you to all who volunteered and ensured it could go ahead. Do try and make sure you take a turn at volunteering so that parkrun can continue to be there for everyone, well into the future. There is a whole range of roles that you can do, some allow you to run/walk too! Drop an e-mail to [email protected] to put yourself forward or if you have any questions about the roles.
