Heya guys!
Just to reiterate the dates for the extra classes for August, we’ll have an extra hour each week on the following dates:

Tues 30th - 6pm till 7pm
Tues 13th - 6pm till 7pm
Tues 20th - 6pm till 7pm
Tues 27th - 6pm till 7pm

Also we’ll have a Kumite Course in the hall on Mon 19th - 5pm till 7pm.

There will be no Karate on Tuesday the 6th and Friday the 30th as I’ll be away on those days.

Heya Guys,

Well done to everyone at the grading this weekend! Very proud as always of you all, your hard work is recognised by Sensei Roger.

The standard of the club as a whole is going up! It pleases me as your Sensei to start planning more and more advanced sessions for you guys, but the work is gonna get harder! be ready for a tough summer! In the meantime, I hope you're all enjoying the weekend and I'll see you in class!

One final thing, somebody left this drink bottle at the dojo on Saturday. I'll bring it with me to class this week so it's owner can claim it back.

Heya Guys,

Just a last reminder about Saturday: 5pm sharp in our usual hall for the grading. £10 for the grading itself.

Whereas we normally go in nice and early, the hall is being used by another party till 5pm so we can only go into the hall on time. So whilst its important to not be late, don't worry about being too early as well 👍

Heya guys!

Just confirming plans for the next 2 weeks:

27th Saturday - Kata course 11am till 1pmin Caerphilly Leisure Centre. The fee is £5 and the plan is to go through the 10 Shodan Katas and some Bunkai. (Bring a drink!)

4th Saturday - Sensei Roger is due to come down. I'll confirm the exact details by the end of the week but it'll likely be 5pm in our Bedwas Hall as usual 👍

Heya Guys!

Couple of things to go through in this post so have a gander:

First of all, it has only just occurred to me that it's good Friday this week! So it makes sense to only run a Karate class if people will definitely be coming along. I'm more than happy to run a class, but what I'll do is ask via whatsapp and make sure people will come, otherwise we can have good friday off!

Second, I'm very proud to announce that Guy in the senior class has achieved his Black Belt! We've kept the fuss at a minimum but we agree that it's important to celebrate when someone gets their black belt, so well done Guy!

Finally, I'm excited to let you know that I've booked the courts in Caerphilly Leisure Centre for Saturday 27th of April for a Kata course. We're looking at 2 hours starting at 11am, but we'll confirm the details closer to the day in class.

In the meantime, Everyone enjoy the Easter Holidays!

Just a little reminder to say that Karate is on this week during half term.

The only difference will be the class on Wednesday will start at 6pm instead of 5pm. Since I'm aware already that some people are away it'll just be the one hour this week.

I'll see you guys at the session! Unless you're away for the half term, in which case I'll see ya when you get back!

Hiya Everyone!

I hope you've all had a lovely Christmas and New Year! I'm looking forward to seeing you all back in Karate as of this week coming!

Starting from:
Wednesday 10th: Classes as normal (5pm till 7pm)

Friday 12th: 1 hour only starting from 6pm till 7pm (so the main class will run as usual.)

I've already had some prospective new students say they'll be joining us for the first time, so this year is already looking to be the year we grow the club into something special!

Heya Guys!

The Christmas holidays are quickly approaching, so I'm just giving you guys a quick heads up as to when Karate will stop for the holidays and resume in the New Year:

Week beginning on the 4th - Train as normal
Week beginning on the 11th - Train as normal
Week beginning on the 18th - Wednesday 20th will be the last session, no Karate that Friday (22nd)

Wednesday the 20th will be more of a chilled Karate Party session rather than a traditional class; we'll have some Karate games and some music to have some fun before we enjoy Christmas with our families.

And to confirm, Wednesday the 10th of Jan will be our first session back. This means we'll have a full 2 weeks off and we'll start back at the same time as most schools.

Any questions gimme a shout, otherwise I'll see you over the next few weeks!

Heya guys,

The Kumite Course this weekend just gone was absolutely awesome! The feedback from Sensei Mel and Sensei Roy was immensely positive and I'm so happy to hear that it was enjoyable. I am very proud once again to have such amazing students in an amazing club. Some amazing photos are incoming!

Also, a general reminder that the grading is this Saturday at 5pm in our Bedwas hall as usual. This week will be completely about preparing for it so please make every effort to attend. (remember there is the option to come for 5pm and train longer).

For those who have been given a licence form to renew their licences, please bring them back this week as you'll need to be licenced in order to validate the grading!
