We are really missing all the children and their families, but we hope everyone is doing well and excited for Christmas?

We promised to recommend some swim schools, and we have found a swim school which are specialists with children with SEN needs.

Neil’s Swim School 4 All! Neil has swim schools all across Bedfordshire and teaches at Trinity school in Bedford. He can be contacted on 07427 240156. His website is neilsswimschool4all.co.uk

We can also highly recommend Sure Way Swim school who teach at Bedford Girls School. They have a page with all the details of their lessons.

We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🥳

We are happy to teach siblings of different ages and abilities in the same class to make it more convenient for parents as only one trip to he pool is needed each week.

Dear All

Last week I had a meeting with Bedford School regarding restarting swimming lessons.

They are looking for proposals from pool hirers to work with the school, which is a completely different concept than a straightforward hire.

The proposals are to consist of –
A profit split of either 50/50 or 60/40
Lifeguards to be provided by the hirer
Holiday swim schools

The cost of lessons would probably have to double for me to continue, but I still wouldn’t be able to compete with other swim schools who want to hire the pool 5 days a week and can offer Bedford school a bigger percentage of their profits.

Taking all this into consideration I have very reluctantly decided not to proceed, therefore, I am sorry to inform you all that Edge Swim Gym will not be re-opening for lessons.

After 20 years of teaching swimming to hundreds of children in Bedford, this has been an extremely difficult decision for me. My view has always been to offer affordable lessons to children, who in my opinion should have the right to learn to swim, and Bedford schools new plans will no longer enable me to do this.

My sincere apologies and many thanks for the support throughout the years.

Just a reminder that swimming lessons will not be back until after the October half term due to ongoing maintenance and repair works to the pool. As soon as we have a confirmed date to restart we will let everyone know.

We have been advised that the renovation works on the pool have overrun longer then expected and the pool will not be ready to reopen until after October Half term.

We apologise for any inconvenience this delay will cause, but unfortunately it is completely out of our control.

As soon as we have a confirmed start date we will confirm.

We hope everyone is having a lovely summer.

As you are aware the pool is having a major refurbishment over the holidays. At present we have not received confirmation from Bedford School as to when the pool will be ready for us to restart lessons.

As soon as we have a planned start date we will be in touch to confirm.

IMPORTANT REMINDER

Lesson are now finished for this term as the pool is closed for a major refurbishment over the summer.

We will resume our lessons at the pool from the 10th and 11th of September.

We hope everyone has a lovely summer and we look forward to seeing you all in September.

Swimming lessons will be finished for the summer after todays classes, as the pool will be closed for major refurbishment works.

Lessons will restart on Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th September.

All places will be held for current swimmers unless you advise us that you will not be returning.

This week will be normal lessons, then next week will be fun night as it’s the last week before we finish for the summer.

Don’t forget there are no lessons this week as we are closed for the half term break.

We then have just two weeks left of swimming on the 4th and 5th June, and 11th & 12th June, before we finish early for the summer.

This is a gentle reminder that photography or videoing of any kind is not allowed at the swimming pool.

If you wish to photograph your child then please speak to your child’s teacher and we can arrange for this to happen in a safe environment away from other children.
