A commanding first half saw the lads head into the break 2-0 up, with captain Phil Draycott and Jake Kissiedu on the scoresheet, both following fantastic deliveries from James Lauder.
Ampthill created plenty more chances but couldn’t add to the tally, before Danio Brown was shown a sin bin for dissent just before half time.
Woodford came out with renewed purpose and eventually pulled one back after three superb saves from Mitchell Howe couldn’t quite keep them out.
The Amps responded brilliantly, defending resolutely before regaining control and creating further chances to see the game out.
A hard-fought 2-1 victory makes it 6 wins from 6 in the league. What a start! 💪💛💙
