A few things about classes.
Firstly ... we have aircon so do not worry ! The environment is completely safe for working out with a baby
Just a few pointers for you all before class
Todays class is focussed on parent and baby circuits. Please bring yoga mat or towel for the floor
👋🏻 There is a small car park at the centre and ample parking around the community centre.
👶🏽 Bring babies in to the centre in their car seats or push chairs and get them into their sling / carrier in the hall. I will be able to check all your slings for you before class.
⏰ Please arrive about 10 mins before so I can check all the slings
🏋🏻♀️ We will workout for about 45- 50 mins including a lovely stretch
🥤 Have a drink to hand.
☀️ We will get warm during class , and our heat will transfer to our babies. Baby only needs to be in one layer ( ie just a vest ). We do have air conditioning , and I will have a door open at all times to keep fresh air circulating where possible. The working conditions are safe.
🤱🏽👩🏼🍼If you need to tend to baby , step out, change a nappy , feed or so on ... please do so , there will be chairs at the sides and there are of course baby change facilities - please return baby to their sling before continuing with the session. It’s a relaxed atmosphere so do not worry at all.
🧐 it’s really normal for babies to have a look about and a little nose while you are moving around. Our older babies sometimes enjoy a singsong too.
💃🏻 It’s also really normal for babies to sometimes join in with you and have a wiggle in their sling.
😴 It’s also ok if they fall asleep !
😊 the more relaxed you are , the more so they will be 🥰🥰
- Check the weight limit of your sling or carrier , if you have a stretchy wrap to make sure baby is not too heavy.
- Heavy woven wraps that DONT stretch are not suitable for the purpose of sling stong classes due to the risk of baby overheating.
- structured carriers like baby bjorn , caboo , etc are fine .
- Carriers must go over both shoulders ie. ring slings that go over one shoulder are not appropriate for sling strong classes.
- I would advise babies be worn ideally tummy to tummy (facing you) to protect your back. However front facing is ok as long as you feel ok. If you have an older baby - wearing baby on a back carrier is totally fine.
General rules for baby wearing :
- Tight to you
- In view at all times
- Close enough to kiss
- Keep baby’s chin off their chest
- Support babies back with the sling
❤️We will go through safety checks at the start of class and ensure everything is ok and you will be able to ask questions, we have a 10 minute window for safety checks and we will do so throughout the class , if you wish to contact me prior please do so.
💁🏻♀️Please ensure you wear clothing suitable for exercise and footwear.
Finally ....
Have fun 🤩 !!! Listen to your body , I will give options throughout. This is a low impact postnatal friendly workout , my priority is making sure you workout safely with your precious bundle and enjoy yourself.
Any questions please get in touch.
