🚨 HEAD COACH VACANCY 🚨

Following the conclusion of our 2026 season, the Ouse Valley Eagles are now seeking a new Head Coach to lead the team into the 2027 season and help build on the progress made over the past two years.

We’re looking for someone who can provide leadership, organisation and a positive vision for the team, while helping develop our players both on and off the field.

Previous coaching experience and relevant qualifications, including BAFCA Level 2, would be highly desirable. However, this is not essential. We understand that the right person may have the passion and leadership qualities required but may not yet hold the necessary qualification.

The Eagles are willing to support the successful candidate through gaining their BAFCA Level 2 qualification, helping them develop their coaching knowledge and skills as they take on the role.

THANK YOU COACH 🦅

We would like to thank Chris for his dedication, commitment and hard work over the past two years as HC.

During his time leading the Eagles, he helped the team continue to grow, develop and build a positive foundation for the future, with plenty of memorable moments along the way.

We’re grateful for everything Chris has contributed to the club and wish him all the very best for the future.

Here is a brief statement from the HC.

"I want to thank all of those involved with the team, not just the past two seasons since becoming HC but everyone involved since I joined in 2021.

The past two seasons we have had no losing seasons and a playoff appearance, the team’s first in over 10 years and this is something I am extremely proud of.

However, with many other things/hobbies going on including the imminent birth of baby Mayhew I feel now is the best time for me to step away.

I will still be coming along to cheer the team on from the sidelines and cannot wait to see where the team goes in the future.

But for now thanks again to everyone, its been a blast!"

As the 2026 season wraps up with post season football, we want to say a huge THANK YOU to every single player who represented the Ouse Valley Eagles this season. 🦅

From the first snap of preseason to the final whistle, every player played their part, showed commitment, battled through challenges and helped make this season one to remember in recent club history.

A massive shoutout also goes to our coaches and committee members who have worked tirelessly behind the scenes and on the field throughout the season.

Your time, effort, dedication and belief in this club does not go unnoticed.

This season has been another important step forward for the Eagles, and we can be proud of what we have achieved together.

2026 BY THE NUMBERS 🧮

Across eight regular season games, the Eagles scored 141 points and conceded 139, giving us a positive point differential of +2

Every touchdown, tackle, block, catch, kick and big play contributed to getting us back to the playoffs and finishing 2nd in SFC 2 East.

But what matters most is what they represent: a team that kept pushing, kept improving and never stopped believing.

2026 was a huge step forward for the Eagles.

Now we build on it. 🦅

2026 SEASON IN REVIEW 📖

First of all, a massive apology for the radio silence since the first round of the playoffs! Our social media person decided that going away on holiday immediately after the season was apparently a good idea… 👀

But fear not, order has now been restored, and it’s time to look back on what has been an absolutely incredible 2026 season for the Ouse Valley Eagles.

What a season it has been.

We finished the regular season 2nd in the SFC 2 East with a 4–4 record, securing our place in the playoffs, something the Eagles had not achieved for over 11 years.

That alone is a huge achievement for everyone involved with this club.

From the opening game of the season right through to the final regular-season game, we saw incredible commitment from our players, coaches, volunteers and supporters.

We welcomed new faces into the club, saw players make their first appearances, celebrated first touchdowns and watched players continue to develop week after week.

We also saw some fantastic individual performances, with players stepping up when their team needed them most and earning Offensive, Defensive and Special Teams MVP honours throughout the season.

But this season was never just about the results.

It was about building something together. It was about creating a positive environment where players could develop, where new players could come into the sport, where experienced players could help those around them, and where everyone could contribute to the Eagles in their own way.

We continued to grow our matchday experience, welcomed supporters to the Eagles Nest, worked with our fantastic sponsors and food vendors, and continued strengthening our relationship with the wider Bedford community.

We also continued to show that the Eagles are about more than American football. From supporting initiatives within the wider football community to continuing our focus on making the club welcoming and inclusive for everyone, the foundations continue to get stronger.

And then came the playoffs.

After more than a decade of waiting, the Ouse Valley Eagles were back in the postseason.

That moment belongs to everyone who has played, coached, volunteered, supported, sponsored or contributed to this club over the years.

To our players - thank you for giving everything throughout the season.

To our coaches -thank you for your time, knowledge and commitment.

To our volunteers - none of this happens without you.

To our supporters - thank you for backing us through the highs and lows.

To our sponsors and partners, thank you for believing in what we're building. And to everyone who has worn the Eagles colours over the years, this playoff appearance belongs to you too.

2026 has shown just how much potential this club has.

And we're not finished.

This is only the beginning of the next chapter for the Ouse Valley Eagles. 🦅

Today wasn't the result we were hoping for as our playoff journey came to an end with a 38–0 defeat to Plymouth Vanguard.

First and foremost, congratulations to Plymouth Vanguard. They were the better team on the day, and we wish them all the best in the next round.

While the scoreboard doesn't reflect the effort, commitment, and heart shown by our players, we're incredibly proud of every member of the squad. They battled until the final whistle, never gave up, and represented the Ouse Valley Eagles with pride.

A huge thank you must also go to everyone who made the long journey to support. Your commitment, encouragement, and unwavering backing mean the world to the players and coaches. Having you there made a real difference, and we truly appreciate every mile you travelled.

This result doesn't define our season. We've achieved a great deal to reach the playoffs, and there are plenty of positives to take away. The experience gained today will only make us stronger as we continue to grow and build for the future.

Thank you to everyone who has supported the Eagles throughout the season. We'll regroup, learn from this experience, and come back even stronger.

Today, the Ouse Valley Eagles travel to Plymouth for the First Round of the 2026 BAFA Division 2 Playoffs, where they take on the Plymouth Vanguard with a place in the next round up for grabs.

The squad is focused, prepared, and ready to leave everything on the field as they battle to keep their season alive.

Playoff football is win or go home, and the Eagles are ready to embrace the challenge down on the coast.

To everyone making the journey to Plymouth and to those supporting from Bedford and beyond, thank you for being behind us every step of the way.

Every training session, every rep, and every game throughout the regular season has led to this moment.

The Eagles know the challenge ahead won't be easy, but they're ready to embrace it. Playoff football is about heart, discipline, and executing when it matters most.

The squad is focused, prepared, and ready to give everything for each other, the club, and everyone supporting them.
