Back when I looked more like this ⬇️
I thought pretty much that I knew I was eating right, when I trained I was burning away the extra treats and that international chest day was mandatory with a side of triceps for good measure.
To be fair not much has changed, international chest day is mandatory, I call it t***y Tuesday!
Anyway, fact is unless you are very intuitive or logging, You ARE eating more calories than you think, you HAVEN’T burned the calories you think and unless your a professional sports person you ARE NOT a body builder or performance athlete so Do NOT need the perfect split. You DO however need a little structure and consistency with your workouts and less cardio than you think!

The soon-to-be Mrs and I have been seriously looking at our nutrition now for 9 weeks and along with that has come a lot of reading and research, some eye opening discoveries and fantastically some significant fat loss.

One of the things we have learnt whilst tracking our food is how to have treats as well as more nutrient dense food all within our calorie allowances. Halo top ice cream has recently been our dessert of choice. It's bang for it's buck in terms of calories is amazing however like most families at the moment money is stretched and paying £5 for a smallish tub of ice cream is too much of a luxury.

So, we set about finding a cheaper alternative.

Typically, ice cream can be very calorie dense with some being around 300 cals per 100g but it doesn't have to be. We had a quick scan of the nutritional info on the back of a few plain vanilla ice creams and were surprised - as you can see from the photos!

Halo top, at £5 per tub, comes in at 116 cals per 100g. Walls 30% fat free, at £2 per tub, comes in at 163 cals per 100g but Ms Molly's, at 99p per tub, is 146 cals per 100g.

So, 2 points:

The *super-duper healthy fat free* ice cream isn't so super-duper... but also, at only an extra 30 calories you can save over 80% in £'s by going for a standard ice cream than a marketed lower calorie version.

The key message here, ALWAYS READ THE LABELS!

(Plus, you can always boost flavour with 0 cals flavoured syrups.)

Even as a coach myself I let the winter lockdown get the better of me.
Last summer I got to my lowest adult weight of 87.5kg. On March 1st this year I weighed in at 100.2kg and did not look good as you can see in the left photo. Today (on the right in me pink pants) I weighed in at 88.5 and probably in the best shape so far, even last year although my weight was down my posture was terrible. I have a long way to go and a lot of work to keep doing but to actually go and put my half naked body to show you all on the internet speaks for itself I guess becauseI hate my body and don’t enjoy taking my top off even at the pool,but things are getting better and I am feeling pretty good about what I can go on to achieve.
Massive thanks to my amazing lady .c.upton for being bloody fantastic but also being my unofficial nutritionist, your onto something here chick, time to get studying 😉 and no words can thank you for pushing me and keeping me in the game!! Let’s keep going 💪🏻

An important thing to remember when wanting to change your body composition is that a lot of the time it isn’t about how much you weigh or how you look, it’s about how you feel.
