Since our establishment in 2000, we have developed relationships with several world-class coaches and competitors to provide a pedigree of regular world-class black-belt instruction that you will not find elsewhere in the area. We have a learning environment in place that provides members access to staged and segmented learning that’s both specialised and structured; all with substance and a purpose to deliver fulfilment through Jiu Jitsu. Congratulations to Craig Taylor on reaching his second important milestone at the Tōukon Academy in Bedford - the first being his decision to begin.

In a sport/martial art where slow, methodical progress is the norm; attrition tends to remove many not willing to put in the effort.

What exactly can a 3-year old learn at Jiu Jitsu?

Let us explain…

There’s the usual building of confidence and the making of friends, but Jiu Jitsu is a life-skill.

At Jiu Jitsu Tots your child will learn how to fall safely, how to get back up and how to control and move their body through space by rolling and tumbling.

Then there’s the Jiu Jitsu.

They’ll learn the guard, how to pin and hold-down an opponent and they’ll learn to escape from any pin.

Notice no mention of sparring or fighting.

Not only will we teach your child life-skills, but they’ll learn the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu in a safe, friendly and fun environment.

From September, we’re bringing the UK’s original play-based Jiu-Jitsu programme back to Bedford - we currently have just 8 spaces remaining.

Jiu Jitsu Tots is back.

From September, we’re bringing the UK’s original play-based Jiu-Jitsu programme back to Bedford@- and this time, it’ll be all guns blazing.

In June we relaunched our Junior and Youth classes to a brilliant response. Now it’s the Tots’ turn.

Since 2013, we’ve built confidence, motor skills and a genuine love of movement in children aged 3–5 - through play, not drills. No sparring, ever.

A strict 1:8 coach-to-child ratio.
Fully qualified, insured coaches.
Parents welcome to stay for every session.
