24 Hour Swim Challenge We did it!! On 14-15 July 2012, a team of ten guys swam over 65 miles and raised £5151.97 for chari

Neil Edwards, David Whiteley, Andrew Whiteley, Ross Heathfield, Stuart Kirk, Tom Kelly, Peter Thompson, Mark O'Leary, James Elworthy & Andy Swift. We set ourselves a challenge to continuously swim in a ‘relay race’ style for 24 hours to raise money for Everyman Campaign to help stamp out prostate and testicular cancer - www.everyman-campaign.org

The target was to swim 50 miles as a team and raise

£3000 - both targets have been smashed! Each of our 10 team members swum for just under 2 minutes, then had a rest for around 17 minutes before doing it again - and repeated this 79 times with no other breaks (or sleep)!!

We know how you guys love a 24hr challenge... last weekend one of our swimmers (Andrew) took to the roads and cycled the total height of Everest, non-stop, over a distance of more than 260 miles in a mammoth challenge to again raise money for charity. The event was a huge success having finished in 21.5hrs, and he is so close to his fundraising target. It was 3 months ago that we undertook this gruelling challenge – a few donations have still been coming in, and taking the Gift Aid into consideration, we’re now near the £5000 mark!! This has been an amazing effort by everyone involved, and we’d just like to extend our thanks once again.

Folks, we've had an update from the donations at Robinson Pool over the weekend - over £450 has been counted, so this officially brings our total over the target when added to the online donations!! Thanks again to everyone who helped, watched, supported and donated - it all kept us going!
