The International Muay Boran Academy (IMBA) is the first international school devoted to the development of traditional Thai unarmed fighting disciplines (since 1993). IMBA has been created thanks to the dedication of one of the world wide exponents of Muay Thai, the Italian Muay Boran Master Marco De Cesaris in close cooperation with his mentor, thai Grand Master Chinawooth Sirisompan, the office of the Thai Culture Commission, along with the precious support of the International Amateur Muay Thai Federation, IAMTF. In the last few years The International Muay Boran Academy has succesfully created a global network of highly qualified Muay Thai instructors, In Europe, United States of America, Latin America and Oceania.

Pure Muay Chaiya lesson this evening, great teaching. Muay Chaiya originates from Southern Thailand, specifically from the Chaiya district in the Surat Thani province. This traditional style of Muay Boran (ancient boxing) was developed over 200 years ago and is known for its emphasis on defensive posture, close-quarters combat, and heavy use of elbows and knees.
Known for a low, stable stance and a strong "defensive shell" to protect against strikes.

Dtad Mala is both a defensive and an offensive technique. In Muay Lert Rit it is applied as a counter against attacks to the head or as a vicious pre-emptive elbow strike aimed at the throat or face of the enemy.
