Rock At The Back = Man Of The Match 💪🪨

A performance that certainly warrants some recognition from the weekend. It’s great to see the hard work paying off and in Connor’s case, it’s clear as day.

Con was composed, confident and closed down most of what came his way from the opposition. On another day, it would’ve been more than enough for a clean sheet.

We now move onto our first away fixture of the season…

Lacklustre Performance Allows the Visitors to Sn**ch a Point 🤝

A mixed bag of emotions for the boys after this weekends game, ultimately it feels like two points dropped. The lads will be disappointed as it was a game where we led for the majority and even had a two goal cushion at times.

You can’t take anything anyway from the visitors who clawed their way back into the game and fundamentally got what they deserved at the end. To concede so late on is heartbreaking but the way we played throughout the game gave the opposition the opportunity to be able to change this.

There’s some time for reflection this week to ensure that we’re more ruthless going forward and smarter in how we play out the back. Still many positives to take and this game was still an improvement from where we had been previously last season.

Our Squad To Face ‘Real Bedford’ Wixams 🔵⚫️

The boys are ready for battle as we welcome Wixams back to Wootton. Plenty of familiar faces, but once that whistle blows, it’s all business. 👊

Familiar Faces, Same Mission 🫡

This week we welcome Real Bedford Wixams to Wootton for our second game of the season. The lads will be looking to build on our win against Bedford Albion last week and add to our points tally as we look to stay at the top of the table 💪

We played these lot during pre season and came out on top with a 6-4 victory. A lot has changed for both teams since then and we’re sure the opposition will be a much tougher test this time around.

The boys will want to add to their 7 goals scored already whilst also keeping that all important clean sheet. We’re sure it’s going to be a busy game with the history of involved with these two teams! Bring it on, Up The Ath! 💙

After a strong pre season, Ali has continued his fine form into the first game of the season with 3 assists and an all around great performance 👏

Statement Sent… 7️⃣💙

What a way to start the new season for the boys! A great team effort from all 16 lads involved and a massive 3 points gained to take us to the top of the league table at the end of week one for the second season in a row 💪

We become the Kings of set pieces in the first half as we scored from 3 on the bounce, with Sam, Connor and Brad all thumping into the net. Noah managed to poke home another with his weak foot after some great movement in the box. Alex was get in on the action with a graceful run and a strong left foot finish to send us into the half five to the good.

We defended well and left the opposition with minimal chances. All advances were dealt with well by Vito as he claimed and palmed any cross/shot that came into the box.

This strong first half performance allowed the gaffers to make five changes and get everyone some much needed minutes. We would take our foot of the gas a bit and get a bit comfortable in the second half but there were some nice spells of play and we had a few chances go begging.

Our Polish penetrator would complete another hatrick after converting another two chances late on into the second half. It could’ve been more but Melvin found himself offside on more than one occasion.

This performance will fill the boys with confidence as we strive to push hard this season for silverware and fight at the top end of the table.

Our First Game Of The New Season ⚽️

As we get the new league campaign underway, we welcome Division 2 newbies, Bedford Albion Reserves to Hillgrounds for what is set to be a great opening fixture.

Bedford were promoted last season from division 3 after finishing 2nd and narrowly missing out on silverware after a goalless Watson Shield cup final that sadly was lost on penalties 🤝

Kempston will look to repeat the outcome of the last time these two teams faced off, but we will have to be up for it and not let complacency kick in as the Albion team is set to be very different to the one we faced just weeks ago.

After playing eachother in Pre Season, both teams will be raring to go to war again and set the tone for the rest of the league to follow.

3 wins from 3 games as the Ath complete an impressive off season. Victories against Wixams, Bedford Albion & Meltis rangers have left the boys full of confidence to attack the new season and push for our objective 🤝
