Bedford Santos U8 v Brickhill Wanderers U8 Titans
Post Season Friendly

A game of 2 half’s & a number of 1sts as Santos travelled across town to take on a Brickhill side who have always proved tough opponents - 1st game for Ari in goal, 1st time wearing the Capt’s armband for Seb & 1st goal for Omari!

Brickhill started the quicker, scoring within mins of the start & despite having a fair share of the ball for the rest of Q1, Santos found themselves further behind as Brickhill found the net on 2 more occasions.

Q2 was a much more even affair & but for the Brickhill GK, Santos could have got on the scoresheet, with Seb, Jackson, Miguel & Luca all going close.
As it was, the boys found themselves another goal down as the half ended.

Down, but not despondent, Santos started Q3 on the front foot.
Charlie was all action, pulling a goal back for the boys with a strike from the halfway line which proved too hot to handle for the Brickhill GK.
At the other end Ari began to find his feet in goal for Santos & despite Brickhill scoring again, he kept our opponents at bay with several fine saves.

So to Q4 & all over the pitch Santos began to dominate.
Jackson scored almost immediately & Luca mins after, both boys finishing well having been played in by Seb.
Brickhill weren’t being given anytime on the ball & Santos were now full of running.

Another goal for Santos, this time from Omari, before Brickhill found the net again.
It was Santos who had the final say though, Luca finishing to grab a brace.

To a player, the boys were superb throughout the 2nd half.
Everyone gave their all in support of their teammates.
When in possession they used the ball well, when out of possession they all battled hard to win the ball back.

A tough call for MOTM, with Seb edging it for a great Capt’s performance.

Brilliant afternoon at the Ath for our end of season awards! Great to see so many kids and adults celebrating the fantastic season we’ve had.

Congratulations to all the lads, whether they won an award or not they were all winners this season!

Special well done to Finn for winning our annual Club Values award.

Saturday 30th May
Stoke Hammond U8 Tournament

Santos travelled across MK to wrap up ‘25-‘26 with their 3rd & final postseason tournament .

Conditions weren’t ideal for football & it was testament to all involved that the boys got as far as the Qtr Finals in the heat.

As is the case with tournament football, matches are over quickly so everyone needed to be at it from the 1st whistle.

Tournament highlights:

Seb’s 1st goal for the club, a composed finish following some neat footwork.

Jackson’s tireless performance up front, he didn’t stop.

Frankie’s defending - a consistent rock at the back.

Luca’s 2 goals, a menace to opposition defenders!

Charlie’s presence all over the park, constantly vocal in support of his teammates.

Miguel’s no nonsense, hard but fair tackling throughout.
His display & effort saw him pick up Santos’ Player of The Tournament.

Well done Miguel & well done boys.

The final tournament typified the boys season.
Ups & downs, moments of magic, moments of despair, tears, laughter, teamwork & importantly enjoyment.

Over the course of the season the boys have realised football is about the team & not the individual, testament to the work Paddy (supported by Rich & Nathan) is putting in with them!

Here’s to ‘26-‘27!

Sunday 17th May
Sandy Tigers U8 Tournament

Captained by Charlie the boys took part in an eventful postseason tournament in Sandy.

As is always the case, Santos gave their all, but today wasn’t meant to be.

Standout moments:

Omari gave everything in support of his team, working tirelessly.

Seb showed some great touches in the oppositions half, posing a real threat.

Frankie was confident at the back, both in & out of possession.

Miguel put himself about & grabbed a well taken goal.

Harrison’s triple save in the 2nd match & dogged energy throughout.

Harry tried to get forward at every opportunity to drive Santos forward.

Jackson worked tirelessly up front, he didn’t stop pressing & went close on several occasions.

Charlie led by example, vocal as ever, with a goalkeeping performance to match.

Results didn’t go Santos’ way today, but the boys showed great character against tough opposition.

Well done boys and well played Omari, today’s Player of The Tournament - he worked hard, never giving up, attributes that will serve him & the team well.

Yesterday morning the U12 Griffins were at home for their final league fixture, kicking off with the knowledge that a win would confirm them as division 4 champions.
They were relentless, and worked hard throughout to make sure of the result they needed.
The goals were shared amongst Riley, Yucel, Simon, Samuel (🎩) and Charlie (🎩), assisted by Riley, Charlie, Eamondeep, Gavin, Elliott, Yucel, Simon and Umar.

It’s been a fantastic season for the Griffins, who continue to develop as individuals and as a team with the support of Paddy & Nathan.
We’ve been treated to a lot of great football along with some pretty attritional battling football too, with plenty of close games across the year. The Griffins have shown skill, character and teamwork and they’ve put in the work to push on and win the league.
We look forward to the challenges and adventures that await in 26/27!
