As part of the Government’s “Simpler Recycling” policy, community and village halls will need to have suitable arrangements in place for separating and collecting waste by March 2027.
New bins will be delivered to the Hall during the week beginning 7th September. First collection 21st September and hirers must sort their rubbish as follows:
• Mixed dry recycling - card, paper, cans & plastic
• Glass
• Food waste
• General waste

Play Area Update
As mentioned in last month’s edition of Network, we are now working towards improving the play area for older children, ages 7 – 11 years, adding more challenge and interest. Thank you to everyone who completed the Year 4 survey at Beckington First School and to all who have shared ideas for new equipment via our page. Completed surveys can still be returned to school or dropped in to 2, Sandy Lane.

As you know we are now working towards improving the play area for older children, ages 7 – 11 years, adding more challenge and interest. 🌳 VILLAGE PLAYGROUND IDEAS NEEDED🌳
We’re looking at making some additions to the playground and would really like to hear from the young people in our village, especially those aged 8–13.
If you’re a parent or carer, please ask your youngsters what they would like to see in the playground. What would make it more fun, interesting, challenging, or somewhere they would want to spend time?
Please reply in the comments with their ideas. If you’ve spotted any great play equipment while out and about during the summer holidays, photos would be very welcome too.
A zip wire and trampolines have been suggested in the past, but unfortunately these are not possible for us to include because of health and safety, maintenance, and ongoing upkeep requirements.
We’d love to hear practical, exciting ideas that would appeal to older children and help make the playground a space they can enjoy. Thank you for your help!
