Firstly, I want you all to know that this has not been any easy message to write or an easy decision to make.
I have decided that my time at Beccles Tennis Club has come to an end and that I will be travelling to America to take some opportunities that have presented themselves for me.
Whilst I’m excited for the next chapter, I am honestly gutted to be leaving. MAX Tennis has been my baby for the past 4 years and has taught me so much.
Words can’t express how grateful I am to everyone who has supported me and attended my tennis sessions. I am really appreciative of those of you who have entrusted me and allowed me to find my identity as a coach whilst always trying to improve their/their child’s tennis. As a young coach, this has allowed me to experiment, find what works (and what doesn’t) in order to get the most out of people and teach tennis in hopefully the most effective way. I can genuinely say that every individual, child or not, has taught me so much. I have watched tennis become a big and hopefully very positive part of people’s lives and I really hope that continues.
I’m really looking forward to enjoying every moment I have left until it’s time for me to go. I will be stopping coaching towards the end of November (I will confirm the date very soon). I will be helping the club to find my replacement as Head Coach and I’m hopeful that a new coach with new ideas will be a great step for the club.
The joy I have gotten from watching every single person work hard, improve and find a love for tennis is immeasurable, but the thing I will miss most is the connections I have made with the children and the parents!
With this in mind I would love to stay in touch, once I leave you are all more than welcome to follow/add my social media profiles. I will also be updating the max tennis instagram to IMK tennis so that I can continue to document my coaching/tennis related activities!
I also would love to plan fun free reunion sessions when I am back in the area visiting my family which hopefully will be relatively regularly. So this is definitely not a total goodbye!
Looking to the future, I’m really excited to keep learning and become the best version of myself I can be, as a coach and as a person.
I really don’t know how to express in words how grateful I am to all of you.
Of course we can catch up about all of this when I see you next!
In other news, I have also sprained my ankle (worlds worst timing) so tennis might look slightly different for the next couple of weeks but I’m going to do my best to not let it have too much of an impact.
Thanks again,
Izzy
