A lovely early morning for some Old school bream fishing on the Ely beet section of the Great Ouse .let's see if its still as good a method as it was when I fished for those fen bream back un my youth just got to remember to sit on hands and wait for bites to develop.

Well what can I say the old swing tip rod mitchell 300 reel and a swingtip made by myself done the business 30lb skimmer...

Well what can I say the old swing tip rod mitchell 300 reel and a swingtip made by myself done the business 30lb skimmer and rudd .bait two bit of worm on a 12 hook ,ground bait yellow sweet skimmers . Load of missed bites the swingtip was pointing straight out but nothing guess they where liners, A very enjoyable day will do this again .

Unfortunately due the current heat waves and lack of rain fall the annual Somersham lake funday as had to be rescheduled for later in the year .It's a shame but fish welfare is the IMPORTANT thing here .This current weather is becoming a real issue not just with our rivers,lakes and ponds .Agricultural and wildlife are suffering as well .let's pray for lots and lots of rain very soon.

Very busy over next 4 weeks preparing Stock for the Somersham lake funday.
This is a great event hold very September at the Huntingdonshire village to get youngsters and novice angler introduced to out great sport. This will be Waveney valley floats second time at this event , Angling Coaching available all day ,Nature trails,BBQ ,Everybody can fish and the Environment Agency with their fish tank showing a variety of fish. This event is superbly run by Tim and his volunteers and in conjunction with Somersham Nature Reserve and Somersham Parish Council.
