Bearsden Golf Club Golf for everyone πŸŒπŸ»β€β™‚οΈπŸŒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ ⛳️ Founded in 1891, Bearsden Golf Club is one of the oldest clubs on the North side of Glasgow.

Enjoying a reputation for friendliness and golfing inclusiveness, the club has in recent years concluded one of the most important periods in its history with a new clubhouse having been built and extensive drainage and other course improvement work having been undertaken. Our course is unique in the area being basically 9 holes but with 7 alternate greens. A 9 hole course may be viewed in some qu

arters as a disadvantage but the current thinking of the sport's governing bodies is that there is a need for more 9 hole courses to be built. This thinking is influenced in part by the pressures of modern living which militate against the playing of time consuming 18 hole rounds in favour of faster play 9 hole courses, reducing the time needed to participate in the sport. With a Standard Scratch Score of 69 our course is arguably the most challenging test in the Bearsden and Milngavie area. We have recently extended our facilities with a new short game practice area. Various competitions for all abilities take place throughout the year with the major period of competitive play running from April to September. The relevant details are noted in an annual fixture diary issued to members and further details will be displayed on the club notice boards and our website and these pages.

Another big day of golf awaits at Bearsden as Finals Day 2 takes place today.

The action gets underway from 8:40am, with a packed schedule of finals taking place throughout the day. From our Junior Club Championship through to Gents singles and pairs competitions, there are plenty of trophies up for grabs! πŸ†

A huge congratulations to everyone who has made it through to Finals Day, and the very best of luck to all our players.

Members, friends and family are encouraged to come along, follow the matches and support our finalists throughout the day.

🍻 The clubhouse and bar will be open, so come along, enjoy the golf and make a day of it!

It’s difficult to capture everything that made our official opening such a special occasion, but this video gives a brilliant snapshot of a fantastic day at the club.

Saturday 8th August marked a truly monumental day in the history of Bearsden Golf Club ⛳️

To have three-time DP World Tour winner and one of our very own, Ewen Ferguson, hit the commemorative opening drive to officially open our new course layout and clubhouse was an incredibly special moment for everyone at the club.

After completing nine holes, Ewen shared his thoughts on the new layout, the changes to the course and the challenges it will now present to our members and visitors.

A huge congratulations to our very own Chris Clark, who was crowned DGU Matchplay Champion last night at Clober Golf Club! πŸ‘β›³οΈ

Chris faced Angus McKay (Clydebank & District) in a fantastic final, with both players producing some brilliant top class golf.

The match went all the way to the 18th green, where Chris held his nerve to clinch the victory and bring the title home to Bearsden!
