Wow 2 years ago today… A Million Memories began. ❤️
What started as a little idea, a love for animals and a dream to make a difference has grown into something far bigger than I could ever have imagined.
Two years of muddy boots, early mornings, late nights, animal cuddles, laughter, tears, challenges, new arrivals, heartbreaks and some of the most beautiful memories of our lives.
From those very first animals to the little family we have created today, every single one has a story. Every animal has brought something special into our lives, and together they have created a place where people can slow down, breathe, connect and simply be.
A Million Memories was never meant to be just a business.
It was built from love.
It was built around animals.
And it was built around the belief that sometimes, animals can reach places in us that words simply can't.
Two years on, we're still learning, still growing and still dreaming…
And when I look back at where it all started, I honestly can't believe how far we've come. Although this year we haven't done much it has all be about our dream of buying land and providing a forever home for our beloved animals, We have lots of exciting new things in the pipeline for 2027 🥹❤️
Happy 2nd birthday to A Million Memories. 🐴🐷🐐🐑🐓🦆❤️
Here's to all the memories we've made… and all the ones still waiting to be created. ✨

We spend an awful lot of hours here with our animals — not just caring for them, but watching, listening, learning and understanding them.

We learn their individual characters, their little quirks, their boundaries and the things that make them feel safe. We train them gently, because what they do matters, and because their wellbeing will always come before anything else.

When someone comes to meet our animals, we don't believe in forcing a connection.

We sit quietly.

We wait.

And we let the animal choose.

If they want to come over, they will. If they want to walk away, they are allowed to. If they want to stand beside you, have a cuddle, be stroked, or simply watch from a distance — that choice belongs to them.

Because animals cannot use words to tell us, “I'm uncomfortable,” or “I don't want this.”

And sometimes, the gentlest animals of all won't show their discomfort through aggression. They may simply become quieter, turn away, move backwards or tolerate something because they trust us enough not to fight it.

That is why we have to listen to the things they don't say.

For us, animal-led therapy isn't about making an animal perform.

It's about creating a safe space where an animal can say yes… and where their no is respected just as much.

The most beautiful connections are never forced.

They happen quietly, naturally and completely on the animal's terms.

And when an animal chooses to come and stand beside you, to rest their head against you or simply stay close…

that isn't something we've made them do.

That's something they've chosen to give you.

And that makes it incredibly special. 🤍🐾

As you can see from this video of ginger, he chooses to gently nudge farrah to let her know hes there, he also sits quietly and patiently waiting for her to gather up some hazel nuts for him, she asks nothing off him ♥️

Today our 11 beautiful goats had their second Blue Tongue vaccination 🐐❤️

It feels like such a huge relief to finally be at this point. Our sheep have now reached immunity from their vaccinations, which is such a comfort to us. It doesn’t mean they can’t catch Blue Tongue, but it does mean that, hopefully, if they were to be exposed, they won’t become as seriously unwell and will have a much better chance of recovering. 🙏

The goats needed two vaccinations, three weeks apart, so today was their second one. Now we just have to give them another three weeks and, hopefully, they too will have reached immunity too. 🤞❤️

When you have so many precious animal lives depending on you, things like this can cause so much worry. We love every single one of our animals so deeply, and keeping them safe and healthy is always our biggest priority.

So today, there’s a little more peace in our hearts. ❤️

One step closer to knowing our animals have that extra layer of protection. 🐐🐑

Please stay safe, our beautiful little herd. ❤️
