We’re very good at training for strength and trying to keep fit. It’s everywhere.
We go to the gym, lift weights, walk, swim, cycle and run to keep our fitness up.
But balance?
We often assume that’s something you need when you’re older. And that it automatically comes along with being fit.
But balance is something you use every day. Something you need every day.
And yet we’re often in such a rush that we take the easier option.
We hold onto the wall putting our shoes on.
The furniture when we get dressed.
The cupboard door when we reach up to the top shelf.
Those everyday balance moments, when we stop doing them, we stop practising them.
Gradually holding on becomes the habit.
Until one day you realise you can’t do it without holding on.
And that’s why I think balance is something worth training now.
Not because you’re getting older.
But because when you’re 80, you’ll still want to be doing everyday things without thinking twice.
Try it today without holding on 🤗
