Fighting Chance Crime Prevention Workshops 🥊

Following the success of a previous programme we ran with four local schools, we have received funding to deliver our crime prevention workshops to another 100 children and young people in the local area.

This project will run from our facility and we will work with students from 10 local schools, delivering early intervention to those identified as at risk of gang involvement and knife crime.

We saw the huge impact this project had on young people previously and want to thank Mayor’s Safer Communities for funding this new project and allowing us to continue supporting local families

We’re proud of the community that’s grown at Training Cave.

This photo has young people of all ages, our coaches and some of the families who support them, all in one place. It’s a good reminder of why we do this.

Some of the young people who come to us have had a tough time at school or elsewhere. Seeing them grow in confidence and start looking out for each other is the part of the job that means the most to us.

Boxing is what gets them through the door. What keeps them coming back is having somewhere they belong and people who believe in them.

Thank you to everyone who’s part of the Training Cave family.

Today we said our goodbyes to Oscar

Our mascot, gym dog and everyone’s best friend ❤️

He got to 14 years old. We couldn’t ask for any more. It was peaceful and absolutely the right time

Oscar was a big part of Training Cave, and every person that walked through our doors was part of his story too

The gym might not be the same without him, but he’ll live on through it.

Thank you to everyone for being so kind to him over the years. From a young pup to his final days, he was always up for a day at work 💪 🥊

At Training Cave, the first thing we focus on with any new group is getting to know the young people, starting with their names.

Many of the young people referred to us have struggled in traditional settings. Some arrive disengaged, with little trust in adults and no real interest in boxing. We expect that, and our approach is built around it.

Our coaches work alongside the young people rather than lecturing them. They’re consistent, they set clear expectations and they build relationships over time. All of our coaches are England Boxing trained, DBS checked and safeguarding and first aid qualified.

Once that trust is in place, we see real changes in engagement, behaviour and confidence, and young people start taking responsibility for themselves and supporting each other. Those are the outcomes schools and services tell us matter most.

We call this relationships before results. Every learner on our programmes is known, valued and supported in a safe, structured environment.
