💙 Together, We Can Make This Happen 💙
This campaign has never been about one person or one group – it’s been about an entire community coming together for something we believe in.
Over the past few months, we’ve shown what can be achieved when people stand side by side with a shared purpose. Residents, local organisations, elected members, council officers and supporters from across West Lothian have all played a part in getting us to this stage.
We now have an opportunity to work collaboratively to create a sustainable solution for the future of Armadale Swimming Pool. By listening to one another, sharing ideas and keeping our focus on what’s best for our community, we can give this much-loved asset the future it deserves.
This pool belongs to Armadale’s story. It’s about health, wellbeing, inclusion, opportunities for our children, and a place where generations have learned, grown and made memories.
The campaign has shown the strength, passion and determination that exists in our town. Now let’s channel that energy into working together and turning hope into action.
💙 Our Pool. Our Community. Our Future.
💙 Together, let’s create a solution and reopen Armadale Swimming Pool.

How do I know what level my child should be in? 🌊💦

Choosing the right level can feel confusing sometimes — especially if your child has had lessons elsewhere before 🙌

When joining, our booking questionnaire helps place swimmers into the most suitable class for their age and ability.

During lessons, teachers continuously assess swimmers to make sure they’re comfortable, confident and being challenged appropriately 💦

Sometimes children progress quicker than expected, while others may need a little more time building confidence and foundations — and that’s completely normal 🫶

Being in the correct level is so important because it helps children:
• feel safe and supported
• build confidence properly
• avoid becoming overwhelmed
• progress at a pace that suits them

If we ever feel a different class would benefit your child more, we’ll always communicate this with you.

Our priority is always making sure swimmers enjoy lessons while developing strong lifelong skills 💙

And we are always available via a message if you’re still unsure🥰

What questions do you have for us? Ask below and we’ll answer them in our next FAQ 👇

Week 5: Construction week 🚧👷

This week we’re digging into breaststroke! 🏗️💦

Our swimmers will be working on breaststroke kick, timing and coordination as they continue building strong foundations in the water. From laying the groundwork to putting all the pieces together, every skill helps construct a confident swimmer.

We can’t wait to see everyone’s hard work this week as we continue to build, learn and have fun! 🚜✨

What have we been learning this week?

During DPW2026 here at Swim N Learn we have been tailoring our lessons to focus on vital water safety and drowning prevention skills, including:

💧 Floating to recover

💧 Treading water

💧 Swimming in clothes

💧 Safe entries and exits

💧 Staying calm if they unexpectedly enter the water

We believe that while learning to swim is incredibly important, knowing what to do if something goes wrong can be just as important. These skills help children build confidence in the water and could one day save a life.

We’re so proud of all our swimmers for embracing the challenges this week and giving everything a go! 💙

❌ Myth: If a child can swim, they’re safe around water.

✅ Fact: Swimming ability is only one part of staying safe.

Even confident swimmers can get into difficulty. Cold water, clothing, currents, panic and fatigue can all affect how someone responds in an emergency.

That’s why, during Drowning Prevention Week, we’re teaching more than just swimming strokes. Our swimmers are practising important water safety skills such as floating, treading water, swimming in clothes and staying calm if they unexpectedly enter the water.

Learning to swim is a life skill. Learning how to stay safe around water is a lifesaving skill.

Adult beginners swimming lessons 🏊‍♀️

Following the success of our recent adult beginners course and continued demand for more spaces, we’re now taking registrations of interest for our next block of lessons.

📍 Inveralmond High School
⏰ Monday evenings, 7:30pm–8:45pm
📆 6-week block
💷 £90

Classes are expected to start within the next 4–6 weeks.

This course is specifically designed for complete beginners and nervous swimmers. If you’ve never learned to swim, haven’t been in a pool for years, or feel anxious about being in the water, you’re exactly who these lessons are for.

We understand that learning to swim as an adult can feel intimidating, which is why we create a friendly, supportive and non-judgemental environment where everyone progresses at their own pace. There is no pressure, no expectations, and no need to worry about being the least experienced person there.

Our previous adult beginners made fantastic progress, building confidence and achieving things they never thought possible.

If learning to swim has been on your to-do list for years, this could be the perfect opportunity to take that first step.

📋 To register your interest, please complete the form below and we’ll be in touch with further details once dates are confirmed:

This week at Swim ‘N’ Learn, our theme is all about water safety as we proudly take part in Drowning Prevention Week 2026! 💙🏊

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing important water safety facts, tips, and information to help raise awareness and give our swimmers valuable life-saving knowledge both in and out of the pool.

👕 Reminder for all our swimmers: please come to your lessons in your pyjamas over your swimwear this week. Swimming in clothes helps children experience how different it feels to move in the water when fully dressed and is a key part of our Drowning Prevention Week activities.

We can’t wait to see all our swimmers taking part and learning these important skills!
