🎥 Minerva’s first track test

After months of design, manufacturing, and assembly, Minerva finally made its first appearance on the track.

The initial test exceeded our expectations, with smooth handling, stable cornering, and an easy riding experience from the very first laps. Strong performance on the straights and confidence through the bends has left the team excited to see what the bike can do over three days of racing this weekend. 🚴‍♂️💨

With preparations now complete, Team Bath Human Powered is on the way to the Netherlands for the 2026 HPV World Championships.

🚨 Introducing Minerva 🚨

After months of design, manufacturing, and testing, we’re proud to unveil Minerva — the first recumbent racing bike to be fully designed and built in-house by Team Bath Human Powered. 🔵🟡

This weekend, Minerva will make her competitive debut at the 2026 HPV World Championships in Sittard-Geleen, Netherlands, where the team will take on three days of racing against some of the world’s fastest human-powered vehicles.

As both engineers and riders, we’re excited to put our work to the test and see what Minerva can achieve on the track.

A huge thank you to the incredible technicians at the University of Bath whose expertise in fabrication, machining, and welding helped bring this project from concept to reality.

This is just the beginning. We’ll be using everything we learn from this year’s competition to refine, improve, and push the limits of human-powered performance further.

🚴‍♂️ Introducing Team Bath Human Powered

This weekend we took our low-rider to its first official race a big milestone for the team.

It was a proper learning experience. We built confidence lap by lap and started to see what the bike can do, but also quickly found the limits. Pushing harder in the second race led to a wobble we couldn’t recover from, ending in a crash and a DNF.

Frustrating in the moment, but part of the process.

We’ve come away with valuable insight into handling, stability, and rider control, along with great feedback from more experienced teams. Most importantly, it’s clear there’s real potential in the bike.

This was just the starting point now it’s about refining, improving, and coming back stronger.
