It’s been a good few years since we started organising competitions at Bath Leisure Centre in 2019, but with access to commercial gyms in order to hold meets proving increasingly challenging with Covid and some other factors, we are calling it a day on the SPF and closing this account down.

Thank you to anyone who’s lifted with us, any spotters and loaders that gave up their free time to help, as well as spectators. Since our first meet we have raised over £1000 for charity! Not bad for a bunch of meat heads.

Henry will be organising the odd strongman event with powerlifting elements at his campsite so keep an eye on that page if you ever want to do any outdoor strength events. We had a great turn out at Cluttons Strongest Man this year so let’s hope the same can be said for 2022!

A bit of bench press from this past June at the last SPF event where we mixed things up with a bit of strongman.

We will hopefully be announcing a date for our next event for charity which will hopefully be sometime in December. Stay tuned!

Not a bad backdrop for some heavy lifting!

2nd place finisher Scott getting the 50kg atlas stone overhead for an amrap at the SPF Thunder event this past weekend.

We will hopefully be returning in the Autumn/winter with a push/pull event at a local gym in Somerset. Stay tuned.

Thank you to everyone who’s entered SPF Thunder next Sunday 27th June! Please find the final list of events and basic details below. We intend to begin lifting at around 10 AM. No weigh-ins for this event. £10 donation to the to compete. Go Fund Me Link below to donate or collection on the day;

Postcode is BS39 5QR. Keep an eye out for Dagger Wood Campsite signs. Head to car park 1 or 2. If you would like a contact telephone number for the day and are competing please send us a DM.

Events will be as follows (male/female weights)

We will go into more specific rules on the day itself but the basics are below. In order of completion. 30 points 1st place / 20 points 2nd place / 10 points 3rd place in each event. Highest total of points wins the competition.

100kg/40kg bench press AMRAP 1 Minute time
Limit (you may re-rack the bar during this time limit and then continue)

180kg/90kg deadlift AMRAP 1 Minute time
Limit (you may rest/step away from the bar during this time limit then continue)

115kg/50kg Atlas Stone AMRAP 1 minute (over a yoke set just below chest height)

80kg/40kg (approximate weight - natural stones) Husafell Stone Max distance carry 2 minute time Limit (Laps around marked out walk way in the campsite field/distance taken once stone is dropped)

Log crucifix hold (12kg each approximately) Max time

A new Bench AMRAP PR of 140kg/6 for Henry in the Power Shed!

Thank you to everyone who’s signed up for out next competition coming up on the 27th June, all places are nearly full! Should be a great fundraiser for the Wild Life Trust.

Our first place trophies for SPF Thunder from the brilliant Fox Mouldings based in Yorkshire have arrived!

Thunder will be a strongman-powerlifting Hybrid event which will take place on the 27th June at 10 am.

First place finishers at SPF Thunder will receive the natural stone lifter trophy plus some supplements from .sportsnutrition and an SPF T-shirt!

Prizes for 2nd and 3rd place as well.

The competition will be in aid of everyone welcome, just £10 to enter all of which will go to charity.

We will have plenty of Cider and a BBQ for competitors and spectators.

We are out of the gym and into the fields for our next meet on the 27th June!

SPF Thunder will be a mix of powerlifting and strongman and will be held at

We will have a BBQ and plenty of cider to drink for anyone that fancies coming, competitors and spectators.

Both male and female categories, with a quality trophy up for grabs along with supplements supplied by .sportsnutrition
