We now have our own server to discuss everything to do with Internal Kung Fu. Actually, you can discuss anything at all. The best part is the ability to chat with me live while I stream Kung Fu lessons live. However, you’ll need to be an active subscriber to be able to join the voice chat.
What is a Discord Server?
Discord is a voice, video and text chat app that’s used by tens of millions of people ages 13+ to talk and hang out with their communities and friends.
People use Discord daily to talk about many things, ranging from art projects and family trips to homework and mental health support. It’s a home for communities of any size, but it’s most widely used by small and active groups of people who talk regularly.
Building a Better Kung Fu Community
Kung Fu is traditionally a closed subject when you reach the more advanced stages of learning the art. You still hear people saying things like, ‘I know those guys are stealing our stuff’.
Even my own teacher Internal Kung Fu Master Luo Dexiu, said to me the other week, ‘Oh, I saw someone using our application, make sure you don’t record anything’.
I’m not actively displaying much of our content from the Yizong lineage, but I’m not withholding it either. I dream of having more and more people learning from the Yizong Internal Kung Fu lineage because it is so good. It’s much more than learning to fight (because, honestly, actually being able to fight with it is pretty risky). It’s a beautiful marriage of movement, meditation, control and power.
