Not surprisingly, due to COVID, all of my Birth Doula Bookings up to March are homebirths.
Why?..
Because of the birth partner restrictions in hospitals. Because they want to reduce the risk of interventions. Because they feel safer and more relaxed in their home environment. Because they want labour and birth to progress just as it should.
Sure, it isn't for everyone, but I'm so pleased that this pandemic is opening up the conversation about place of birth. Because WHERE you choose to have your baby will influence how you birth.
If you are choosing to birth at home, you are not 'brave'. Right now hundreds of women are labouring, at home, all across the world 🌍.
Be informed, do your research and choose carefully.
